“@LennRobbins: Follow up from St. John's-Gtown..League not expected to hand out any discipline over post-game dustup #stjbb #WEAReGeorgetown”

Didn't know there was one. Anyone see anything?

This is news to me.

“@LennRobbins: Amir Garrett, Jabril Trawick unfinished biz form the last game when AG nailed JT w a ball while going out of bounds #stjbb #WeAREGeorgetown”

“@LennRobbins: It was a clean play but you can understand Trawick being ticked..And Garrett wasn't thrilled with the Hoyas sweep #stjbb #WeAreGeorgetown”

Haaa I remember that Garrett play the 1st game. Was right in our corner Paultz. Hit him in the face with a fastball. Loved it

Glad he hasnt forgotten it

Didn't read all the posts. Agree: we didn't play our best game.
We also played better then last time vs them.
They are a bad matchup for us.
Gift would have made a huge difference.
I am sure Marco got complemented. He played his best game. Still doesn't change the fact that he has major shortcomings. He is no Larry wright. He is no Fred lyson. Don't know why he should be in rotation. Hopefully branch is ok.

You guys are brilliant.  Whoever is playing should be benched.  Whoever isn't playing should play.  I can't believe none of these coaches have thought of that.

Of course.... Marco would be averaging 23 ppg if the nice persons would let him play.

While a loss is a loss, not a bad showing considering DLo gave us little.  Look, we win most of the games we are supposed to win and lose the games we are not.  Cant ask for more then that at this point. DePaul just took ND into OT , so much for ND, they r a middle f the pack team as are we.

Who woulda thought Linda would come back after we lose?

Yes but I am sure that you would have expected something negative from me when you got just the opposite. I have been ill for a while. But thanks for your concern.
His illness was probably a result of our 5 game winning streak.

Exactly.  The irony of returning today.

Irony?  I say something positive and it's ironic.  Your problem Moose is that you are just too negative.  Are you Realfan?

Lavin on Marco;

"That’s an inspiration for all of us," Lavin said. "He’s been lower than a snake’s belly -- came here from junior college expecting to play, he’s gotten zilch run, had nothing but splinters in his fanny, and he stepped up today and had a hell of a game."

“@KieranDarcy: My full story from St. John's-Georgetown here in D.C. -- a nightmare for two players in particular: http://t.co/LjEiPtRz

Is this quote a joke?  He has gotten zilch run coach cause you have not found a way to get him into your offensive scheme.

Linda- are you really going to rapid fire post now, after our first loss in last 6 games?

I hope you are feeling better.  Menopause can be a bitch,   my nana told me so.

Actually it was from reading your nonsensical posts Celtics.

You guys are laughable.  You want so bad for me to come out with something negative but it just won't happen.  So keep trying to spin it any way you want. There ave been a variety of reasons, which are none of your business why I ave not posted lately, but none have to do with the teams wins or losses.  I stated early on that ths eam is a middle if the pack team, should win the games we are supposed to win, which  we seem to be doing of late, and lose the ones against superior competition.

It's funny cause when someone else is ill on this site there are entire threads wishing them well.  When I indicated that I may have been ill, all I get is hate?

It's hard to keep comments to the game when only losses bring out our very best fans.  And there are a few who look to bring down the Johnnies at every chance.

I liked Harrison's comments the best.  He said if his first three went in - and they were open looks - it would have been a close game.

It may just be that simple.

The season is far from over.  Two wins locks up an NIT bid and four wins gives them a chance for a good showing in the last BE tourney and a ticket to the dance.

Let's hope Branch returns and that this team makes their opponents sick.

If they can be 15-10 after Conn/Lou/Cuse they're in good shape. Have to win one of those.

I didnt expect to win because as others have rightly noted, the matchup is not a god one for us. As I stated in this thread during the game, I am mystified we struggled with their zone mightily the first time around and seemingly made no changes to the way we attacked it.

That said, I really thought there were alot of positives that came out of this game. We basically played them even up for the first ten minutes and the last 20. We came out fired up to open the game, lost our focus/intensity in the last ten minutes of the first half and came back out fired up for the second half. I dont know whether Lavin pulled out his junk in the locker room at halftime and told them to play like they had a pair, but they were definitely motivated in the second half, even after losing Branch. Unfortunately that second 10 minutes put us in a hole we couldnt dig out of.

Obviously he missed his last 6 shots, but I thought Greene played well today and I thought the staff used him well because he was truly off the ball today (until Branch got hurt). JaKarr really played better in the second half..I dont mind the "highlight reel misses" because i didnt think he passed up something easier to try them. He came out much tougher in the 2nd half too. Cautiously optimistic on the Marco explosion...I'd like to see him do it again a few times before I'm going to bury Lavs for keeping him glued to the bench. But man it would be nice to have another long distance option.

Best part of yesterday? In recent years I had lost much of my hatred of G'Town..I think JT3 is a great coach (and not an unrepentant racist, like his father) and they play the way I'd like to see us play. But it felt a little funny. But since we have a nice little rivalry cooking now, I can go back to hating them and the world makes sense again.

great post Tnice.  on point.  I've had similar feelings regarding G'town lately. With them now trying to fight us after, It's cool to despise them again.

It was like a game from the past.  We need a Kevin Williams if we get them again in the tourney.

This games could of been a blow out but you can see that grit that has been developing all season come out and try to comeback...the only concern is that they seem to have Harrison's number. Or Harrison is afraid of them.

You've hit the proverbial nail on the head.  When we win you get a little less of it.  But following a loss is like opening up a can of worms.  It cracks me up.    :2funny:

No offense but I don't think ANY of the talk after this game is the sky is falling.  What people ARE talking about is a guy who was splintered on the bench all year came in and played well.  And people are wondering why he wasn't playing prior especially in light of the coaches comments.  Its a discussion about yesterdays game.  I think everyone should stop labeling the majority of the board one way or the other.  Just creates too much BS

While I loved the way Marco played yesterday I don't blame Lavin for not playing him more this year. You have to earn your minutes and Marco didn't do that until yesterday. The few games he's been in he looked out of place, confused, and had a couple of careless turnovers. It looked like he didn't belong on the court. Hopefully he's figured it out and has confidence now.
