he scored 12 in a blowout loss...  lets not get carried away with the marco stuff.  Ray Allen hasn't been glued to the bench.

Honestly, finishing third in the BE would be a miracle.  No one can realistically expect us to stay they.  We are somewhere between 8 and 10.  Anything better than that would be a pleasant surprise---and a successful season.  We, obviously, need a few more wins.  Uconn, S. Fla., Providence are winnable.  Notre Dame on the road and Marquette at home are not out of the realm of possibility.  Let's see what happens.

I was waiting for this.  Not shocking it came from you.

So should we stop keeping stats when a score hits a certain number?

“@LennRobbins: Follow up from St. John's-Gtown..League not expected to hand out any discipline over post-game dustup #stjbb #WEAReGeorgetown”

Didn't know there was one. Anyone see anything?

This is news to me.

“@LennRobbins: Amir Garrett, Jabril Trawick unfinished biz form the last game when AG nailed JT w a ball while going out of bounds #stjbb #WeAREGeorgetown”

“@LennRobbins: It was a clean play but you can understand Trawick being ticked..And Garrett wasn't thrilled with the Hoyas sweep #stjbb #WeAreGeorgetown”

Haaa I remember that Garrett play the 1st game. Was right in our corner Paultz. Hit him in the face with a fastball. Loved it

Glad he hasnt forgotten it
I was hoping Amir didn't hit Jabril in the face with ball on purpose.  G.Town beat us up at MSG and Jabril's teammates backed him up yesterday by kicking our ass again. Branch got steamrolled because they know one way to rebound and thats by crashing the boards hard.  I give Jabril credit for not going after Amir. He's a basketball player and his team beat us up twice. If we meet in the BE tourny G.Town gonna come out the same way they already did twice. I hope our guys can get to where they're at someday.

While I loved the way Marco played yesterday I don't blame Lavin for not playing him more this year. You have to earn your minutes and Marco didn't do that until yesterday. The few games he's been in he looked out of place, confused, and had a couple of careless turnovers. It looked like he didn't belong on the court. Hopefully he's figured it out and has confidence now.

Exactly right.  When someone figures it out, we act like he's known it all along.  Marco moved better yesterday and got open.  More importantly, he was ready to shoot when he got the ball.  That allowed him to get the shot off more quickly.  That may be because DLo wasn't hitting and Coach told him he has to look for his shot.  He was definitely less timid about putting it up than he has been in previous games.

He also probably sensed he wasn't gonna get yanked since Branch was out for the game.  Isn't motivation a big Lavin characteristic?  Marco never looked motivated before yesterday.  He looked deer in headlights scared of making a mistake and getting pulled.

Your right.  Lavin has constructed a perfect roster and his substitution patterns are lovely.

Any sub patterns Lavin did this year you'd have a problem with, unless we were undefeated. We're 6-4 in conference with an undersized, young roster (I know you cringe at facts, but I'll say them anyway). Lavin has done a fantastic job constructing this team with what he was given to work with, not to mention missing a year to cancer. You may not agree, but the number of coaches in the country who could've done a better job to this point, you can probably count on one hand.

Facts are great.  I love facts.  Especially stats.

Like how Phil gets off to blazing starts then continues to hoist up shots and finishes shooting in the 30% range.  So in terms of subs I think his minutes need to be cut.  Just cut enough to give him the breather he deserves.

Also I'm not a fan of the courtesy 2-3 stints he gives Marco, Felix and Christian in the first half of seemingly every game.  Don't see the point of this especially when they never leave bench after.

Also Felix is a good FT shooter and Marco one would think is.  Since we are a horrid FT shooting team it would be nice to have them in the game when teams are fouling.  But since they have played minimal minutes it would almost look foolish to bring them in.

Marco has a rep as a shooter.  Even prior to yesterday if you watch when he is in the defenders stick to him like glue.  That opens avenues for others.  Phil is being run into the ground and doesnt need to play all the minutes he does is my point.  Sadly now we might be forced into seeing more Marco with Branch's injury.

An irrelevant program, overhauling an entire roster with the only real player returning a Div. II point guard. In year 2 of a rebuilding process, Lavin's got us 6-4 in the BE with a lot of promising young talent. But, because we're not as good as Syracuse, our fan base will just bitch and moan about substitution patterns they wish they had seen in a 12 point loss to Georgetown.

What Lavin "given to work with" wasn't what was left over by Norm Roberts. These are his recruits, and this is his program.
If the team is undersized, and there are two large men on the sidelines, the finger is pointed in one direction.

So you think it is easy to become a top half BE team starting from scratch in as little as 2 seasons? Is that really what you are saying? Lavin should have a team assembled perfectly, with no holes, no size problems, terrific players that don't need time to develop. That is what we should have expected from Lavin by now, right? I don't blame Lavin for taking a shot at Sanchez. The Gift thing is questionable but there is something going on there that we don't know about.

Jeez, this board has to get real.

I think this years recruiting can be scruntinize more because he should be able to recruit the missing pieces this team needs, instead of recruiting monopoly style. There shouldn't be anymore scholarship issues as well.

It's year 3, not year 1. Is getting real accepting failure? For how long should we be okay w getting housed by good programs? And the Gift thing isn't questionable. It's flat out wrong. There is no reason he shouldn't be playing. That was a horrible decision. There is no one going to the NBA after this season. Not one player is remotely ready for that. But we've stupid players here before. Lavin needs to keep the handlers away from the school. That was one good thing Jarvis did.

These handlers are mooches. Losers who hang onto children hoping for a payday. They should be treated like criminals should they ever step foot in MSG or Alumni Hall.

Relax people, were 6-4 in the Big East and were just coming off a 5 game winning streak. We lost to a good Georgetown team on the road, so what. Were not perfect but neither is any other team in the country. Lets take down Uconn this week and climb the standings

Maybe Jermaine is not a missing piece.  He is a small forward, just like Jakarr.  While Jakarr is forced to play the 4 and 5, he is a 3.  So are Dom and Amir.  With Gift at the 4 and Obekpa at the 5 next year, we shoul be ok in the frontcourt---although I would really like to see a big body to solidify the 5 spot.
