Jamal Branch injury
« on: February 02, 2013, 08:10:25 PM »
I'm hoping for the best but he was in a lot of pain.

http://espn.go.com/new-york/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/8908800/st-john-jamal-branch-sprains-left-knee-loss-georgetown

The primary evaluation by Georgetown doctor John Klimkiewicz, M.D. was a left knee sprain. Branch was treated with ice, and was returning to New York with the team. There will be a further evaluation in the coming days.

When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

He is young, hopefully he will recovery quickly. If it is not to bad of a sprain wouldn't be surprised to see him on wed. remember paul Pierce being carted off in a wheelchair and returning a few minutes later? Let's hope it is a mild sprain and the pain was temporary.

This isn't the Tim Cluess / Iona thread Marco.  Think you placed this message in that Branch thread by mistake :)

I'd ask if you were talking about Jamal or the team. But I know your response would be 'both'
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Sprained knee either means just that or a a torn ligament.

Not necessarily.  Only MRI will be sure.  Sprain can be more painful than a tear actually.

He looked like he was about to cry in pain on bench. Don't know why they waited so long

Knees dont generslly get rushed out.  A colleague of mine was working right after slipping on ice and tearing 3 ligaments in his knee.  Don't get me wrong, it was a terrible injury that needed a big fix, but it's not like ortho surgeons rush them off to the OR.

It looked very bad.  I'd be shocked if he's back anytime soon.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Jamal.  He's been a bright addition to the team and will be sorely missed.  :(

His teammate also pushed a player into his knee?

Another reason we should be happy when Harrison leaves.
