Feels so fine to beat them.  I'm very happy.

Loved the 5 pass sequence leading to the Garrett 3.  Not too much later he took an Nba 3 and Hollywood called an immediate TO.   :2funny:

Sir Dom had some sweet dishes and impressed with the great Paris like block to stuff the breakaway chance.

Good passing (16 assists), solid 1st half defense, amazing Ft shooting, only 9 turnovers and a Napier team violation seal the deal.

Coach could not have been pissed at Dlo because Dlo can do no wrong. Probably were just having a heated discussion on where to have post game meal and coach wouldn't put him back in until Dlo agreed with him. When the young man returned to the game to his credit he was instrumental in helping us secure the victory.

Your right.
The 15-1 Husky run was pure coincidence

Remember this SJU fans.  This was quite possibly Uconn's last game against SJU in the Big East  and we came out on top.  No more shots against us because they aren't eligible for the tourney.  Nice to send them out with a fond farewell.

Lost a year or two off my life at MSG watching us squander lead, but It was a great effort by my Johnnies. Warts and all, it is fun to watch these guys. Sampson is becoming "the man"! Our "crazy corner", chaired by the "Honorable "MJM,was really into it! Great night!

Like coach said, it's a win. Be glad we got the win. Yes, we could have beat them by more, but we were playing w no point guard, and this was freshman and sophs going up against juniors and seniors.

Lets be accurate though.  Uconn has 1 SR in RJ Evans who did nothing really but get under Dee's skin.  Also their leading scorer was a freshman.  Napier, Giffey and Olander are JR's but the rest are Soph's.

BTW- Did Phil Nolan enjoy the view?

Forgot about Nolan.  Glad we got Obekpa instead, although when you read Nolan's recruiting thread, most had given up on Obekpa when Nolan committed to UConn, and were instead viewing Chandler as the target.  Gotta love the recruiting roller coaster.

Nolan was one of the few who came on an official, got the dog and pony show and didn't verbal.  Most shocking was he popped for Ucoon RIGHT after his visit to us.

Nolan= fool's gold.  Uconn can have him.

Passing was much better last night, leading to good looks.  Even when the lead was dwindling, it just felt like we would win the game.  We looked like the better team---the one that SHOULD win the game---unlike previous years.

Final point.  I got 2 tickets in Section 110 for $6 each.  With Ticketmaster surcharge and the email delivery option, I paid $26.  Incredible!

View from the Front Row:
I was lucky enough to sit first row just to the left of ST Johns Bench:
what I liked....
**DOM, DOM, DOM, DOM DOOOOOM...ferocious player.  Plays so hard, does so much.  So coachable, when Lavin speaks to him, he listens.  He is our all around best player.  He will be a first round pick by his senior year.
**Balanced scoring.  Although Dlo is our most talented scorer, we have to have a third guy to push us over the top.  Green, DLo, Marco (Borgo) and Sampson all in double figures.
**Jakkar's post game.  Great footwork, quick spin move.
**only 9 turnovers without our starting PG...not great, but not terrible.
******When Lavin ripped into DLO on the bench, I LOVED DLO's demeanor.  Didn't pout, wasn't upset, stayed in the game and even encouraged his teammates.  This is not the DLO with the attitude problem from the beggining of the season.
Last of all, I know losing Lawrence hurts.  I know Raysheed seems like Temple or UCLA over stjohns, but provided we don't lose Jakkar or Harrison, I love this teams potential.  At worst, we get a rebounder in GG and a shooter in Max the hooper.  #FUTURE IS BRIGHT

When they would house us, our problems were not their concern. I don't care who was wearing the Uconn uniform, I hate them all with the same passion. This win matters. It's all part of our development as a team. Beating a conference and local rival always means something no matter how bad things are for the opponent.

All well and good.  You said we beat Jr's and Sr's.  I corrected that.  That is all.

I think 9 TO's a game is our average.  We take good care of the ball.  So without Branch its OK.  Branch would have added a few more but also for the most part is more reliable with ball in his hands as opposed to Dom.  Wash.

Dee didn't pout.  Don't tell the rest of the board this :)

Most teams need 3 scoring options.  When games get into the 80's and 90's (Nova game) you need a 4th scoring option.

Not every player on the Uconn team is an upperclassman, but they have several. Olander, Giffey, Nappier, Wolf and that dirty mother RJ Evans.
We have Marco-Antoine Bourgault. And last night, he was the best of the bunch.

Good synopsis

Yes Hooper and Gift add to the depth next year

We are not 3rd on Rysheed's list
