I think we would be undefeated and ranked #1 in the country if coach had played Marco 30 mins every game

Yeah, becuase that was what I was saying dopey ::)

Kid can shoot, should be obvious to even people like you now. He should have gotten more of a chance and would not have if Branch did not get hurt.

Some times even a blind squirrel finds a nut. If Branch doesn't get hurt Lavin never gives Bourgault a chance. Could have used him in some capacity prior to the last two games!

Would have loved to see more looks.  Went silent for awhile.
thought so to, but not sure if the team doesn't look for him, not running plays for him, but noticed that he stopped working hard to get open. Excited when he gets the ball in his hands, he instinctively know the right thing to do with it. Glad we have him for a few years.

Also they could have been hounding him even more.  When you have a shooter in there attention is paid more to them.  Which is big reason when Dee was out the distraction was gone for Uconn and they focused more on who was in there.

Marco has proven that he can be a valuable asset to this team in several ways.  I was wrong about him.  I didn't think he was as crafty as he is.  He is even able to take it to the basket a little bit and is getting more comfortable making his own space out there.  I wasn't sure he could get up to this speed, but he really causes another issue for teams out there when he shares the floor with Harrison.  One issue though, is we branch because Green just can't get the ball moving well enouh.  Marco could have hit a few more threes and was WIDE open on the break several times, but our guards didn't see him.

He can really be a threat for us though, and I like what I'm seeing.

everyone gushy about his shooting/offense but tonight I thought he looked the most comfortable all season in the zone.  he rotated with the ball movement covering the wing nad the corner nicely for someone who looked lost out there in previous game.  I thought a lot of his lack of PT was due to his defensive shorcomings.  Maybe he has finally grasped the zone concepts.

Excellent point.  Marco got a late start and was behind the curve in terms of fitting into the rotation.  He struggled on both ends of the floor early on.  He is clearly starting to get it and will be a valuable contributor going forward.  It just seems silly to keep criticizing Lavin for not giving him more minutes in earlier games, when it was obvious that he was not yet comfortable with what he had to do on the court.  The coaching staff sees him in practice as well as in games.  They have a good grasp on what a player is ready to contribute to the team.

Glad Marco is playing well because we definitely need another zone buster.

The criticism stems from the fact he still could have gained a little more PT.  Nobody is talking about 20 mpg.  But another spell in the 2nd half could have helped.  FT specialist at times as well.  It's great he's getting it but lets not ignore the fact it was Branch getting hurt that opened the door.  So its not like it was a epiphany.

Mean Joe was moving the ball just fine.  As evidence I offer his game leading 6 assists, to only 1 turnover, which included the assist on all 3 Marco Truffaut three's and didn't include a great look ahead feed underneath to Sir Dom resulting in 2 late ft's.  We also scored 71 points.  Think we would have scored 81 with the Aggie?

Knock his shooting from the field all you'ld like as 2 for 11 is horrific.  But as per usual, his handle, passing, defense, ft shooting, and affinity for making key plays late, were once again prominently on display.

Here is the only thing I will say about Greene after last night.  Stop taking 3's.  Take a step in and take the jumper.  The 3 is usually the only balanced shot he takes.  Of course more balance on the other shots would be nice.  He had some stones with a bucket or two real late.

Greene still doesn't have the vision to get the ball up court the way I'd like to see us do.  Branch has more of that quality.  I like Greene as a player so don't confuse me with a Greene-basher.  He's a solid player, just doesn't have the court vision that can really press the fast break.  I like Phil and he's solid.

That was gutsy after going 0 for 9.  You would think he'ld be afraid to shoot by then.

+1.  Greene should be required to clean Calhoun's bathroom after a late night binger if he takes another 3.

Except for the technical against Nova whick I'm still stung by, I like the Aggie as well.  We need all our chambers loaded if we're gonna dance and Jamal can ball a bit and adds a useful not to mention entertaining element to our game.

Greene made some clutch plays, but I remain concerned with the high number of shots (often with clock expiring) he gets in spite of poor shooting %. Only a soph, so I think he can develop into an adequate off guard. Mid game development, as noted above, is in order. Just my opinion.

Karr has made a living off a step or two in.  Greene needs to follow suit.

Oh sorry one more thing.  When you have momentum and a break DO NOT STOP.  He pulls up on breaks way too much.

What ever happened to that running tear drop shot that Greene used a lot last year?  I don't see him using that shot much this year.  Maybe I'm wrong.

Usually good for 1 a game.  But I think it was more when he was running point and now Branch is around.

This is tru considerin Phil is a jet as evidence by his one blow by layup and fouled on the breakaway dunk.

You have a foot race on this team, Phil wins. Needs the confidence to take it to the trees stead of settlin fo the threes.

It's great he's getting it but lets not ignore the fact it was Branch getting hurt that opened the door.  So its not like it was a epiphany.

Marco showed me more the last two games than he did all year and it has nothing to do with minutes. Marco earned that start. Its not like Lavin doesn't have other options. Yes Branch getting hurt opened the door, but if this was earlier in the year, Felix would have gotten the nod over Marco. Marco showed coach he was getting more comfortable and confident and that warranted him getting the start.
