It's a winnable game for sure. Syracuse isn't as big and is having depth issues right now. Fwiw, Cuse might be tougher to play at the Garden then they are at the Dome. They may msg a home crowd and play extremely well there. Playing up at Cuse isn't necessarily a big disadvantage compared to playing at MSG.
Our recent history with Cuse is telling us that this is not winnable because we are sooo used to dropping games to them. This is a new era though, and I think we have a shot here if we play well. Their zone has been hot and cold. Need to get the ball to Jakarr in the gap and have him take it to the hole and draw fouls. They don't have big man depth. Only Keita and Christmas.
We will likely play a mix of zone and man today. Cuse has one player that can dribble penetrate and that is Carter-Williams. Stop him from penetrating and it will cause them some trouble. Triche has to be guarded on the perimeter. He's a hot and cold shooter, but when he's on he's tough.
I don't expect to come out with a win, but looking at the matchup, it isn't necessarily the worst this season. We need D'Angelo to find his game sgain, and Bourgault can be instrumental in opening up the 2-3 for everything else we do. It's a no-lose situation today. Lots to be gained if we win, but everybody expects a loss. Play loose and we might be ok.
