Cuse vulnerable to offensive rebounding, not our strength. Also against Cuse zone do you post Obekpa high for dump downs to Jakarr or vice versa? Probably JS who can hit short jumper.

Obekpa should only leave the post to set screens and when in motion. If he attempts a single jumper, I might lose it. He needs to think five offensive boards or more.  Weakside glass, it's Boeheim's biggest fear.

Coach had to be in Amir's ear all week.  Nobody works the baseline better, and nobody hits the offensive glass better.  This should be a 15 and 11 night for Mr. Garrett.

Apparently Karr is only big starting with Dom so CO will have to come in early and stay out of foul trouble to combat cuse bigs. May also need contributions from Amir and C Jones to help on the boards.

“@PSBasketball: James Southerland's appeals hearing has concluded. Waiting a decision, according to a source.”
This situation borders on the realm of being of the absurd.  How is an opponent able to prepare if they have no clue what the situation is.  During warm ups, he can apparently be declared eligible and his 14 PT's and 5 R's become available.  How can an opponent prepare for this.  He should be kept out until the game after he is declared eligible because we know he will be declared eligible as this is Excuse and they always have one.

Last season, was it Syracuse or the NCAA who had suspended Fab Melo? That ended their season. With him, they beat Ohio State and go to the final four. Southerland isn't as great of a loss, but combined with losing Coleman, they finally as disadvantaged as we are all of the time.

That does seem true though. They always have an excuse. Wish we were that smart.

I actually think that we have a good shot at beating Cuse tomorrow, especially if they are playing without Southerland.  Coleman out too.  We are missing Branch, but i think their losses are a bigger problem considering their depth.  I will add that Syracuse is statistically not a great shooting team and without Southerland, I'm sure that stat is even worse.  Keep them out of the paint as much as possible, and make them work for their shots.  We must crash the glass in their 2-3.  They don't hit the defensive glass particularly well either, but their offensive boards are excellent.

SJ needs to get after it. We need to disrupt them. Carter Williams needs a guy in his grill for 40 minutes. If we limit the free baskets that have plagued us, we can play w them. This isn't a powerhouse SU team.

They need to want it. They need to come out like the 10-11 team did in big games.

Oddly enough, we are ranked 7th in the conference in offensive rebounding.  It is defensive rebounding where statistically we are poor.

Odds are stacked against us today. Play like you have nothing to lose and let the chips fall where they may.

A victory here has the potential to be a program changer, as far as recognition and momentum is concerned.

Why not us? Lets do it!

Key to the game IMO. Karr needs to hit his jumpers today. If not, it's going to be a long game.

I'm sure that Coach Hines wil have latitude in regard to substitutions and it will be interesting to see what patterns unfold in that respect.

We can't keep letting them fire 3's like this or we'll get burned.

I think Sampson has 3 turnovers already. Not an impressive start for anyone.
