The new BE is going to be as much fun to watch and follow as the original BE.  They have the two top finishers from this BE season (Gtown and Marq).  They have teams with good hoops histories as well.

Fox is going to make this work.

Fox should insist that Limbaugh be named Commissioner.  EIB, Excellence In Basketball.

and he would make "oxycoton" mandatory in every training room ;)

Seriously, I think Fox will put together a great pregame program similar to the NFL pregame program they currently have.  They will also use BE in conjunction with NFL playoff games as a way to get the BE programming introduced to a wider Fox audience.

"3. Creighton drew 18,613 fans to the Missouri Valley Conference title showdown against Wichita State Saturday in Omaha. The Bluejays regularly draw 17,000 and rank sixth nationally in attendance. The majority of the departing Big East Catholic 7 schools would love to average that attendance. And this is exactly why Creighton is the favorite to be the 10th team when the league is formed with Xavier and Butler. The new Big East wants basketball-centric schools where the facilities and fan base provide a basketball atmosphere that rivals any other school in the country. Flying to Omaha is a connection through Chicago for a number of schools. Providence, Seton Hall, DePaul and St. John's should and likely will welcome Creighton. Marquette is already on board. Georgetown and Villanova shouldn't have issues, either."

Why Creighton over VCU? VCU is closer, and it's not in Nebraska, a state w no business playing in this conference.

Excellent article on the challenges of maintaining conferences and specific impact on MVC if it loses Creighton. This factoid says it all;

"Since 1996, nearly 150 schools have switched conference affiliation for all or most sports. Including the Catholic 7, 40 schools are set to move for 2013-14."

“@ADJPaq: Potential Creighton move to Catholic 7 would have significant impact on MIssouri Valley Conference. http://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/stability-of-mvc-could-be-tested/article_d8a7b998-4acc-54c4-b560-f5c8d9cee167.html

I play one on one with Warren Buffett there once a week, must admit though it is not as exciting as Yonkers.

Creighton inclusion reflects its Jesuit roots and preference of Catholic "Gang of Seven" probably.
