Yea, that was not a good quote by Kieran. From all indications, the team is going to be very good next year. We aren't even expected to do anything from here on out.

I am sure we will be better, but basically you are trading Harrison for Sanchez. Does that make us significantly better?

Sanchez would have helped us a ton in the frontcourt today.  He can also make outside shots.  We still miss Harrison though, and I'd like to land either Rysheed, Severe or some other backcourt scorer to assure that Phil gets less than 20 mpg next year.

I agree we should get a shooting guard for sure, if not Severe. Putting all our eggs in one basket for Jordan has limited our options. Granted no one thought we would lose Harrison, but hopefully the staff will scour the earth for a combo guard who can shoot. Greene should not play more than 15 minutes a game. Severe was 3 times the player Phil Greene was as a highschool junior. Been saying forever we should sign up severe. Sure paultz and moose can bak me on this lol

I'm sorry but meeting expectations on being 10th is disappointing. Besides beating Notre Dame after Brey unexplicately benching Cooley, we've beat nobody and accomplished nothing this year. There was not one step forward this year .

I'm a big fan, just venting right now.

2 things.

1) Technically SJU can still exceed expectations
2)  My point was not to say I am satisfied just because they are in line with pre-season prognostications.   I am using it to show that SJU is not at a crossroads anymore then Cincy is 7 years into Cronin at 8-8 having lost 5 of 7.

Honestly and sincerely I don't think Phil Greene earned back his ship for next year if it was up to me. At this point I think if Malik Stith was given his minutes he would have produce more.

You would have to. Otherwise no Harrison and more Greene cancels out the positives of having Sanchez. Honestly I thought we needed another good guard even with Harrison

I think we should offer Severe even now, and stop waiting for Jordan.  I love Jordan, but we really have to wait til the end of April to find out hes going to ucla or temple possibly, and there is nobody else on the board?  We are very, very close to being a very good team.  We have 2 missing pieces.  Another dynamic frontcourt player (Sanchez) and a backcourt scorer.  I really hope that if we are letting it ride on Rysheed, we land him.

But again you have to include Harrison situation. If we are going to be good next year you need Harrison back or a vey close replacement. That replacement is not on this team currently. So even if we exceed expectations, we are actually in a worse spot, becuase no one envisioned losing ourr best player this way.

Harrison is still a big part of this team.  Until we hear something to the contrary.  His presence next year will be key to bringing us to a much higher level.

And our Freshman will be Sophomores, and our Sophomores will be Juniors. You can't discount the fact we will be a lot more experienced. We are probably the most inexperienced team in the Big East right now. The team we had in Lavin's first season wasn't the most talented or athletic, but they were all upper classmen and it showed.

I have no information but I don't get the feeling we have any shot with Severe. Are we even recruiting him hard? Has Lavin seen this kid play or spoke to him? I think it's wishful thinking that we just can get Severe.

I'm pretty sure if Lavin offers Chilleb a schollie ( oops I mean Severe ) that he will say yes

Could not agree more with this post.  This board is full of jokers.  I just got in from the game - saw what a real home crowd can do for a team and do to poor refs.  This crowd gave their team 10 points tonight. Our pathetic fan base is great on the keyboards and full of BS excuses when it comes to supporting this team.   Half think you can coach this team better than Lavin.  What a joke.  Try ball boy.  If any of us could coach, the last thing we'd be doing is bashing coaches on a message board.

The worst thing about this Program is the lack of fan support.  PC has had no recent success and just one BE crown.  Yet they fill their place with enthusiastic fan support.  We have coach and player bashing.  We even have a so called fan who thinks he's Lavin's shrink from 200 miles away.

This team busted their ass for their coach tonight.  They were up against it in a tough BE road game.  They came real close.  Next season this team is going to win up here.
