Arizona State / Detroit on ESPNU right now.  Two great college PGs, but so far no contest.  AzSts Jahii Carson may be the best in college.  Throw in a 7'2 center who blocks almost as many as Obekpa, and it's a pretty tough NIT combination.    Be matchup he11 for SJU if they should meet at the end of this thing.

Carson is excellent.  Sendek a better coach than maybe his record.  Still think we have the athleticism to match up with most in this tourney.  Asu has trouble running and transition defense.  They can be beat there.  Too bad as Carson was a big target of Lavs.

Didn't mean to sound like we'd have no chance.  Just that the matcup (ultraquick, ultraathletic PG & 7'2 260 shotblocking post) doesn't favor us.   But by the same token, they don't really match up with Sampson or Pointer.   Neither team has a pure "4".

Shotblockers Avnet been a big problem for ths team.  Bachynski is slow as crap, even though he's a good shotblocker.  SJU leads the nation as a team in that stat and I think it helps us quite a bit overall.  No other team is close to our shotblocking ability either. 

Carson is excellent, but we have improved a ton at preventing dribble penetration.  IMO, ASU doesn't worry me as much as some others in this tourney.

I admit Cooley has done a great job this year. Also, they had a good, active crowd at the Dunk. PC has nice momentum for next year.

He has done a nice job but the NIT can be a crap shoot.  Robert Morris plays UK at home because Rupp is being used and so RM pulls upset so now instead of playing UK at Rupp they play RM at home.  Think if SJU got to play Norfolk St at home as opposed to playing an ACC school who was 19-1 at home on the road Sunday's game might have been a bit different.

Just saying Cooley kept this team together after a poor start, injuries, etc and peaked at the right time. Even if they lose at Baylor, they have faired well imo. My comments have nothing to do with SJU.
