Always amazes me when guys say they're finished with the team (and, yes, you're entitled to your opinions/feelings) but I love my team/ alma mater like they are one of my children. Can't give up on them no matter what.

Difference between rooting for a pro team v. rooting for St. John's

It's also extremely sad how people are giving up on them while they have such a bright future.
It's a long off season. We have no recruits, whats up with that? Worries me that Steve not coming back. Any rumors out there.

But so close to an amazing day with Sryacuse being blown out and scoring their lowest points ever under boheim, and then we beat Marquette in overtime by coming back from 9 down with 3 mins left.

We played with effort but still shot awful as usual. Don't make your shades too rose-colored. This is a game we easily take with 1 more FT or 3 pointer which we shot like 7% from. After this game, I'm finished with the "Well maybe next time" or "I liked the effort in the loss". For next season, I better not hear that from you guys either. It becomes "NOW" and "I liked the effort in that WIN". Aren't you guys sick and tired of seeing other teams celebrate Big East regular season championships and tourney berths? This team has 1 more season to gain my attention and money as a fan. 1 more bad year puts Lavin on the hotseat and makes even more fans think they aren't worth the trouble.

So again, nice effort, but we still lost a game we should have won. Missed easy shots inside, still can't make a 3 pointer if the hoop was as big as the grand canyon, and still can't get over the hump in close games.

You thought without Harrison and Pointer we would win today? Yeah we missed shots, yeah we didn't close the game, but we also were on the verge of getting run out of the building by the 2nd best team in the Big East and we battled back. That is satisfying to me. Winning is better, but I think you can honestly say we took a step forward today. Phil made shots, Branch had a real solid game. Nice contribution from Jones. These kids showed some heart today, and I wasn't sure they had this in them. But they responded. This is how we need to play next year, EVERY game.

I guess it's as a respectable loss as you can get, but my god how many games have we lost in our past 8? 6 or 7? At some point doesn't this team actually have to start winning? There are only so many silver linings you can talk about until losing becomes tiring and embarrassing. Should we have a good team next year? Yes. Will I accept anything under 20 wins if Sanchez, Sampson, Harrison are all playing? No. The next recruiting class will tell us if it's the players that suck or Lavin. Don't know if you guys realized but we are a laughingstock not only in the Big East, but around the country. They think we are a thug team that has done nothing since over a decade ago. I will not be saying "maybe next year" for the upteenth time after next year. This coming season is make or break for me and probably for Lavin as well.

How do you get recruits with no roster spots? I think we obviously make room is Rysheed wants to come, but hard to get kids to commit to a team with a full roster.

Is it set who and when we play in the BET yet?

On another note, our shot-blocking is phenomenal.  Not just Obekpa but probably 7-8 guys on the team.  Evan Marco and Branch, from the guard position have shown ability to get blocks.  I know it is mentioned by the announces during each of out games but even, I who has watched every one of our games, was amazed today.

From what I understand, Nova assuming Cincy beats USF which they should. Nova is a team that doesn't lose games like we lost today. Good luck to us. Arciciando with 30 points and 8 3 pointers.

Been at the hospital - couldn't see the game - got it recorded so will watch tonight.   Looking at the box, surprised to see a 10pts 6rebs in 20 minutes line from Jones.

Very fun game to watch, and we have nothing to complain about. Kids played as well as could be expected in a tough situation. In a meaningless game for them they played harder then a team playing for seeding and a share of the last BE title. Phil hit some shots and played decisively. Bourgault finally got a chance and did not shoot well. That should shut most of us up for awhile.
Would be nice if we could maybe win a game in the last BET.

Nothing to complain about?
12% from 3
38% FT

Those are pathetic numbers and even a slight increase would have won the game for us. I will be dead before I will see this team shoot 50% from 3 for 1 game.

Stormy, got to shoot some to win. 2-16 from 3 and 5-13 from the line. Marco looked pretty good, except for shooting the ball. Someday we gonna have a team that shoots some, and then we gonna win some. We also had a chance to close out some defensive stands, and rebound just got away. I believe all here figure if this group works hard and can improve shooting they be alright.

Stuffing looks great, but if we don't cut back on the offensive rebounds we giving up, it's for nothing.

Missing my point. I am not saying we turned a corner or we will be great next year. I enjoyed this particular game and other than stuff we don't do well anyway I thought we played a good game.

You are quite the for "manifestos", if we were the laughingstock of the country, maybe Syracuse will relieve us of that title for at least 24 hours. Relax this just basketball.

Not a Nova lover, a Nova respecter. It's like when you see a big time ladies man...you don't love him, but you respect his game. Nova has accomplished more in the past decade than we have our entire history it seems. A final four, a sweet 16, ranked practically every year, etc. If we were in Nova's shoes, everyone would be going nuts celebrating and it would seem like a dream beating 3 top 5 teams going into the tourney. That being said, we should be on their level by now and we aren't.

With 7 blocks today, Obekpa now leads the nation in blocks. Has 4 more than Jeff Withey, who plays in a few mins.
