I was thinking about the pre-season tournaments next year.  With all the conference shuffling if there would be any conference repeats in those tournaments.  Sure enough-

The move should add strength to Iowa's nonconference schedule. The field for the Bahamas also includes Kansas, Tennessee, Villanova, USC, Wake Forest, UTEP and Xavier.

There is a general rule that can't happen.

I guess because of the late decision by Xavier to join the new Big East probably well after the field was set left the Tourney with no choice but to allow it.

Moving practices up is a great idea, especially for young teams.  Couple the earlier start with our summer tour in Europe and we should be playing and practicing a lot this late summer/ fall.  Should be ready for start of season.

That happened in the Old Spice Classic this past year too, with West Viriginia and Oklahoma both playing. The organizers purposly put them on opposite sides of the bracket, but they still played each other in the 3rd place game.  The organizers of the Bahamas tournament will probably do the same thing.  That's about all they could do.

I'm guessing the planet will survive 2 conference teams playing a non-conference game.

Last time we went away it really helped our season. Going to Canada and the
Alaska shoot out really gave our guys some confidence.

The Alaska Shootout was just what the Dr ordered though.  A pitiful field that we 'should' have won.

Easily remedied by putting Xavier on the same side of the bracket as Kansas :)

Not to see us play Penn State and Ole Miss coach.   Hope there are some other home games to be announced.

People should go see SJU wherever they play.  Both are major conference schools that we need to beat.  Time for fans to step up too.

I had the exact same thought but declined to post.  It's time to stop making excuses and start getting our butts in the seats---irrespective of who the opponent is.

In theory, yes they should, but they didn't against St.Francis. Do we need to be undefeated to tell these seats in Brooklyn?

That situation was odd though.  All of the lower seats were sold to Michigan/WVU fans and it's hard to expect people to pay 25 bucks a seat to sit in the rafters to see us play St. Francis.
