It'll be interesting to see what time the Holiday Festival DH starts too.  The Rangers are home at 7:30 so even a noon start to the doubleheader would leave them with a quick turnaround time.

As far as I'm concerned, the schedule doesn't matter all that much, but winning does.  I want to beat Syracuse as bad as ever.  They will be tall and athletic.  Taller than us, but this might be the first year we aren't physically overmatched by much.  They will rely on a lot of new faces.  I don't think they have the shooting ability they had in past years overall.  That game for me defines our OOC schedule.  Our league schedule will be new and exciting.  Good overall play top to bottom.

Gonna say that 11am I bet.  And thankfully we are not the first game.  The extra 30 minutes the Rangers padded isn't that much.

What would happen if we had a 17 OT game the same night as a home rangers game?  :uglystupid2:

Everyone criticizes Cuse's schedule Ed.  Its a joke they never leave NY and people always mention that.

It's not bad.  I prefer the exempt tourney to be a bit stronger but perhaps Ole Miss and PSU can surprise.  Throw in a good low mid major in Bucknell with Cuse and Wisconsin and it is pretty good.

Blowing out some of the cupcakes would help us with Kenpom, etc who factor margin of victory. We've been hurt by squeaking by some 200+ rpi teams.  Would be good to see us in the Kenpom top 50 come tourney time.

I agree, it's our time. When was the last time STJ beat Cuse?

“@SJUCoachLavin: Barclays Tournament guarantees #stjbb  2 opponents from power conferences. We schedule the 2 other opponents: This year Cuse and Wisconsin.”

“@SJUCoachLavin: Good to have the Johnnies non conf schedule being bantered about by high profile expert pundits. Another indication #stjbb making strides.”

I honestly think it looks amateurish to have our coach indirectly responding on twitter like this.

I agree, notably the second one. Not a big deal, but better off not saying anything IMO.

I don't mind coach responding. He thinks young, and Twitter fits him. Lotta kids see his posts. They are relevant. As we do better on the court, they'll be more relevant.

The easier OOC schedule makes winning the Cuse game more important.

Hope we finally see the orange shrivel up.
