Guess I'm wrong then.  Seems like I'm the fish swimming up stream on this one.

I think I need to read more of his inspirational tweets :)

It is 2013 social media is used as a recruiting tool, no way is it petty, he is responding base too because there has been a lot of banter about the schedule.  Doesn't just have to do with an article.  Half of his responses if you checked were in response to others.
Too many people on this site who constantly have to complain about something instead of looking forward to hopefully a rewarding season.

Social media isn't petty.  His response is petty.  I'm fully aware of the impact and power of social media.  Doesn't mean that the things said there are automatically kosher.  Lavin is pretty active and often does 'respond' to people who say hi or mention something to him.  We are obviously on two ends of the spectrum here.  I dont like my coach defending his schedule on Twitter.  Back it up on the court.

Your right.  All I do is complain.  I forgot.  Lavin is invincible and can do no wrong.  You are talking about me here.  I was criticized for being a Lavin homer and now all I do is complain?  :2funny: ;D

If he ran over a dog the response from some here would be deflecting blame that someone swerved into his lane.  Complaining is a helluva lot different than simply disagreeing with something he does.  He's not infallible.

He's not infallible, but let's pick on him for something that matters. As far as other coaches go, Boeheim can't get along w anyone. He's always been a jerk. If he was on Twitter, he'd be going at it w people day and night. At least Lavin can handle someone coming at him w a different view point. I give him, or whoever wrote the response credit.

What might matter to you doesn't matter to me and vice versa.

Very true.  Almost as true as the probability that what either of you think of Coach Lavin's tweets doesn't matter to him or the department.

That said, while I see how Moose could read it as being defensive I think it's just a throw away comment that also serves the purpose of showing kids that Coach knows that most of twitter is just posing and joking.  Someone that can relate to them, even if he won't let them tweet in season once they get to STJ.

"2. Give Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan credit (and St. John's Steve Lavin for agreeing to do it) for staying true to a former player and current staffer in Joe Krabbenhoft. His dad, Kelby, the CEO for Sanford Health, is behind the new Sanford Pentagon basketball facility in Sioux Falls, S.D. Wisconsin plays St. John's in South Dakota to open the season Nov. 8 (Minnesota will play Milwaukee in an NBA preseason game on Oct. 10). "We wanted to help showcase the building and expose people to what a great facility it is,'' said Ryan. "And Steve agreed to play it. It's a great neutral-court game. It's going to be really good for us to get a neutral-court game like that against an athletic St. John's team.'' The Badgers have an aggressive schedule with home games against Florida, Marquette, a road game at Virginia, Old Dominion in Cancun, Mexico, and this opener against St. John's (as well as going to Green Bay). Ryan said the Badgers will skip a year in a return game to Cal, settling on going to Berkeley in 2014-15."

He's always been listed as Marc-Antione, if memory serves.  His teammates (and maybe everyone else) calls him Marco.

Meant his height sarcastically.

OK.  They always lie about height on roster listings, though.  Not just St. John's, everybody does it.

They also have Rysheed and D'Lo at the the same height of 6'4", when Rysheed is easily about 2 inches taler from their recent picture.  It truly doesn't matter.  Their stats on the court matter.

Only one player from NY and he is a walk-on. My how times have changed. We used to have rosters with only New Yorkers on it. Not complaining as long as the roster is talented as we are presently.

And Gift is up to 6'8". And Felix 6'4". Gift is(was) a solid 6'6" at most, Felix 6'3".

They were both listed at 6'8 and 6'4 last year respectively. Regardless of what they actually are. I always think Felix looks big out on the court.

Now they are saying double header with gtown vs mich st and St. John's vs mystery opponent. Would have to be a big east team.

Why does it have to be a BE team?  Is our out of conference sched totally filled?  If so, Creighton might be a nice opponent.  Otherwise, I would go with Nova.

I would hope it's Marquette.  They are arguably the best team in the league right now.

But, from a marketing perspective, i would say it's Butler, as they are the most high-profile new team.
