We have the talent to win this tourney, don't be mistaken.  Need to play like we can play though.

Maryland, Kentucky, etc. would smack us around like rag dolls.

I don't necessarily agree.  We are as athletic as anybody and have some tools.  No, we won't have D'Angelo but we just lost to Marquette in OT.  I don't think we are a great team right now, but i don't think we're a rag doll.

At some point we need to start playing better, there's simply too much talent on this team.  After losing 7 of 8 we're due for a few Ws.
Maybe things will start clicking.

Playing for the rights to SJU...

You would think, but not. They own the rights. Seriously, they do.

Yes I am aware. Hence why I made the joke. Maybe we can win the rights back with a W

I'd settle for some dignity.

I was really negative until i saw the draw. Gut check time. St. Joes has been bad for the past few years . We should be able to beat them. I am excited. Hope we come ready to play Tuesday. It wouldnbe great to get back to the garden.

The NIT can be a tricky thing though, a lot depends on if a coach can get his team fired up to play.
Not an easy thing to do for teams that just missed the real dance; like Kentucky, Virginia etc

Good experience for the players

Go out and play with intensity. Look at game film of the Marquette game and play with the same intensity.

Did you just pick on mine and ignore the 2 or 3 other blatantly negative posts? I'm entitled to my opinion. If it's not rosy enough for you, well too bad. Bottom line is we have been absolutely pathetic late in the season. Our offense is totally nonexistent. You can't argue any different because the facts are on my side. Saying we have a real chance to win the entire thing really makes me think some people are on drugs. Does anyone realize we don't have our #1 scorer or that we have been shooting about 35% FG and 10% from 3 lately?

All of these teams would easily beat us: Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, Baylor. So to say we have a good shot at winning it all is madness.

This is an opportunity. We get a nationally televised game. No one in this tourney should embarrass us. The staff has been questioned. We are about to see what they are made of

No I picked you on purpose.  You appeared only at the season as things weren't going well.  I don't like posters like that.  I'll ignore you from now on.

I guess you didn't notice the 20+ wins next to most teams in the NIT bracket. We have the worst record in the entire thing. In fact, I almost feel it was a pity move to have SJ play in the NIT. It's an MSG based tournament that we have ties to. St. Joe's beat ND, and played Butler, and VCU very very close (2x vs. VCU). They also played Nova very close. Their team stats also appear notably better than ours if you look on ESPN. By the way not saying we can't win obviously, but I think we are lucky to win any game from this point.

This is all true.  They've had a few games to adjust to life without Harrison.  (at least for now)
And hopefully Branch is getting a little closer to 100% each day.

We also played nova close, twice.  We beat Notre Dame too.  Beat Cincy, Uconn, among a few others and just took Marquette to OT without Harrison.

Those teams that you fear came from conferences that combined barely got more bids than the Big East, so their record is not end all be all.  We took ourselves out of the game when we benched Harrison.  Still have a chance in these games IMO.

It has zero to do with it as a pity move.  First off they were a 5 seed not a 7 or 8 seed.

Providence got in with a 4 seed literally 1 game better then SJU 17-14.  Pity move?

Lighten up.  They got a bid.  Be happy it is a small step towards bigger things next year.
