How many rebounds is the guy who wasn't worth keeping going to have on Tuesday? 8? 10? 12? 14? 16?

Sorry if I'm coming off as a negative nancy bringing the board down...that's honestly not my aim at all and is not inteneded. It has just been a very rough end to the season losing 7 of 8, Branch injured and still not the same, Lavin missing when we needed him most, and Harrison off the team.

Get a life

Nice attempt at trolling.

Just trying to give you good advice.  Keeping things in perspective might help you avoid the negative thinking.  Most Johnny fans are pleased to see the season extended even though they know their team is challenged.

Not sure if this has been posted...but this is pathetic in my opinion. It's one thing if we rallied to salvage a 16-15 season and make the NIT. We were on the damn NCAA bubble with 5 games left and didn't win another game. Not exactly a reason to celebrate. We were 3 games better than last year, not exactly a monumental step forward....

4 of our last 5 were against tournament teams. The other one was against a team playing much better basketball down the stretch. We should be FORTUNATE we made the NIT - all of these guys need some post-season experience.

That's fine and I sort of agree. However, it's a JOKE for Lav and others to spin this season as PROGRESS. We won 6 BE games last season with 6 scholarship players (5 freshmen) and an assistant coach running the show. We won 8 BE games this year, but guess what? It's only because we played DePaul twice and Rutgers twice. We had the same exact "quality wins" in the conference (@ Cincy and ND). Not to mention we lost to San Fran, Murray State and UNC Asheville. But hey, we beat Florida Gulf Coast and they are in the dance! I guess it is progress.....

Our goal in all seriousness should be to win a game. We haven't won a game without Harrison. The team has collapsed w out him.

Did you expect to win a game without him?
Once he was jettisoned it sealed the fate of the season IMO.

Absolutely. The media should have torn us a new one. But they didn't. It's a present.

No doubt. Wonder how long it is before we know if D'Lo is coming back or not. I surmise it would at least be by semester end, but who knows. Besides academic participation, what else can he demonstrate during this suspension. I assume he wants to return, just a hunch. I am not sure staff wants that, also a gut feeling. Lastly, do his teammates want him back? Consistent with mission of St. John's, I believe he deserves a second chance. He is obviously a kid with issues, but worth salvaging IMO. We'll see.

No, I'm actually stunned that we played two close games. Lavin has made one serious mess here. The media treats him w kid gloves. There is an obvious favoritism w Lavin at the helm. It's his best talent.

Oh ok was just checking based on your response.
Media treats all college coaches with kid gloves.  Its college.  Its not pro's.  There is a huge difference.  Its not just Lavin.  They threw Norm 6 yrs worth of softballs.

The media ignored St.John's when Norm was here. We were irrelevant but now, we are marginally better and we get more ink than ever. Lavin has a lot to do with that.

If you people are so upset about the nit then don't watch the game and maybe even stay off the boards for the next week. Some people on here really need to see doctors and get anti depressants

So.. the Harrison fiasco is 100% Lavin's fault?  He caused it?  Kid takes no responsibility?

Funny, because I seem to remember countless posts by certain posters calling out how kids get treated like gods and act like prima-donnas, and are allowed to get a way with it.  I guess that only holds water when the kids decide to go to schools that aren't St. John's. If they come here.. do whatever you please, as long as you play well?

Harrison deserved to get suspended.  He'll be better because of it and our other players will develop a bit more because of his absence right now too.  I think lots of us agree on that.  I know a lot of people agree that with our team coming back next year older and wiser, stronger, and fully loaded, we're going to be really strong in the new BE.

As for Lavin and the media, his best asset.  Love it.  A big help with recruiting too.
