Just a guess Saturday at 11 AM.  NCAA games will tip at 1-1:30 so it won't conflict with NCAA's.

Sorry to be late to the party - doctors appointments....hadda watch the tivo before commenting...

Great win - this is the kind of game that pays huge dividends in NEXT years dance.

Sir Dom becoming the player his potential in HS led you to think he could be.

Think they scrod Obekpa on number of blocks...again (box shows 3, I counted at least 5)!

Took the time to try to scan the threads here.   Once stat doesn't look like it got commented on.   Our 3 primary ball handlers - Jamal (5 assists), Dom (5 assists), Phil (3 assists) combined for a 13:1 assist to turnover ratio.   That'll get it done.

You really love it when they 'screw' Obekpa on blocks.

He's done what may be a once in our lifetime thing (likely DEFINATELY for my lifetime) - it does bug me that he's been shorted likely in double figures over the course of the season.    If it was 2 or 3 POINTS a game, the world would be screaming bloody murder - but it's only "blocks" - (which to me makes it worse cause they're much harded to come by).

That's one soapbox I won't be climbing off of.

Garrett can't jump anymore.  Its pretty interesting.

Honestly, outside of hustle, he can't do much of anything...if we had to go down a guy to fit a recruit, I would not lose sleep if it was him...he makes at least one bonehead pass per game

Branch isn't a great shooter either, haha

He's reliable.  More than most on this team.
Branch's shooting touch has suffered since his injury...he had nice release prior to his injury...no lift on his jumper now...I think his shot is better than what he has shown since returning

Abdul Gaddy is still on Washinton? 7 year plan?

FTR- The Lipscomb stuff doesn't bother me at all.  He played a grand total of 7 minutes and the time I actually watched him on the court he did nothing that screamed "get him out of here".

Much a do about nothing if you ask me.
But shouldn't be playing ahead of Marco...

That is what's puzzling.  Why not start Marco?  Or play Dom a few minutes at the 2.  But coach knows the message he is trying to send, whatever that may be.

I love Garrett's hustle and he has a nose for the boards, but beyond that he has improved far, far less than everyone else who came back.  And he still handles the ball like a grenade at times.  Maybe playing baseball during the summer has stunted his development.  He was more polished offensively than Dom last year, and right now it is not even close.

Dom was my player of the game.  He is coming along nicely.  Will be a force the next two seasons, on both ends of the court.  It is amazing how much better his outside shot looks compared to last season.

Nice to see him do this before this season closes out.  The ND game gave him an undeserved rap.  This kid plays with fire which pisses off the oppossing players and the fans of other teams.  This was missing in his first game back.  It was not long ago that good fans on this board wanted him traded.  This guy is going to lead this team for the next two seasons.

Interesting post game presser with Calipari...he gave kudos to Robert Morris and admitted his team got what it deserved this year...but most enlightening comments were 1) admitted he had to make concessions that he wouldn't normally make and 2) there will be lots of competition for PT next year and a 30 minute guy might get 5 next year...

Just finished watching the game. Pissed I missed all the fun on this game thread ;)

Congrats to the team and big props to dom for making a bunch of huge plays including the game winner. Team showed real toughness coming back.

Unfortunately I still hold on to my beliefs that Lavin coaches this team poorly and our team plays very dumb. Whether that is due to his coaching or not does not make it any less bothersome.  Twice during the last minute up by 4 points and 2 points respectively, lavin had a chance to put his PG (no not phil greene) into the game but chose not to. Unsurprisingly both of those possessions ended poorly.

Lets go get one in Virginia!

It's night and day.   Dom is an extremely fun player to watch, and will be a dynamic guy to have r the next two years.
There are times when I don't think he's aggressive enough offensively though.  He'll defer to Greene or Harrison and pass up good opportunities.
He's the least selfish player on the team, almost to a fault.

"Poorly coached and dumb", yet we just beat a higher ranked team at their home stadium, who has a better record, in the post-season, who is coached by a pretty good coach, without our All-league shooting guard, with a team that can't shoot.

Say what you will, but our biggest problem is really our shooting ability.  Part of that is related to the fact that we electively left 18-40ppg in D'Angelo Harrison to be a spectator.  Even without him, we advanced to the second round.  Cant be as dumb or poorly coached as being made out to be.  Time for all to just start supporting this team.  Time for the second round.

This is all about next year and following years.  Even the ticky tack benchings are about next year.

It's "Guys you want to be good and expect to be good then you carry yourself at all times like a committed student athlete nothing else will be tolerated.  Get on board now."

Yup

When someone says "Let's go get one in Virginia!", and is clearly pumped after a good win...that's usually a sign they're "supporting this team".

And I'm not directing that just at you MCN, there's been a constant theme in the discussions lately that constructive criticism equates to treason.

MCN I havn't, nor will I ever stop supporting this team.  Maybe you missed the part were I gave the team credit and congratulated them on a quality, gutsy win.

If you don't think this team is poorly coached than we just have a difference of opinions. Ive known that for a while though. Way to many bone headed lazy passes and to often careless with the ball. Maybe someone should tell Obkepa to stop holding the ball with one hand and to get back on defense instead of attempting to steal the ball 90 feet from the rim.
