saratoga this weekend

has anyone ever gone to get togethers like the one this weekend in saratoga?

a few of my friends talked me into going.  i don't know what, if anything, to expect.

Saratoga is great! Beautiful little town with a feeling like you are going back in time. Skidmore College is there, but the best part is the track and where it is situated. Go to Ciro's after, a great outdoor bar adjacent to the track, lots of fun and characters.

we went to one of the events the school did at Belmont a couple of years ago and had a good time

Big horse racing guy.  He owns a few horses.

I live 15 minutes from the track. Attendance is down a little but a nice turnout this past Saturday. As usual I made sure to make a donation 😔

I was up there this past Saturday.  Princess of Sylmar stole the show.

sorry i missed you guys.  i went with three other couples.

the biggest bummer was a horse in the first race breaking his leg in front of us and having to be put down.  the jockey was unconscious for a long time, including when he was put in the ambulance.  other than the internet, that story went uncovered.  even ESPN failed, although they had big coverage on the alabama race.

mike repole came over and talked to us at length.  a real fan and a nice gesture.

So you track dogs. I'm going to Del Mar on Friday.  Any picks?
