We are 7th.  Nova is 12th

Steve Lavin returns his top six players from a season ago -- guards D’Angelo Harrison, Phil Greene IV and Jamal Branch, along with wing Sir’Dominic Pointer, forward Jakarr Sampson and Chris Obekpa. The Red Storm will add heralded freshman guard Rysheed Jordan, forward Orlando Sanchez (wasn’t eligible last season) and Harvard transfer Max Hooper. That’s nine deep, not including God’sgift Achiuwa, who sat out last season, and Marco Bourgault, a shooter who started seven games in 2012-13.

It's crazy the disparity between different reporters/analysts when it comes to ranking us. One guy has us as the 7th deepest team in the nation, and another has us finishing 7th in the Big East.

From youngest to deepest in one year!

Depth does not automatically equal being good. It just means there's not a large drop off between the starters and the bench, but other teams could have much better starters but a weaker bench but the starters are strong enough to make them a better team. Just speaking in general not saying this applies to any specific teams. All things being equal depth is better than no depth but it's hardly the only consideration when it comes to best teams. Just like talent alone does not win games just look at memphis for an example of this. Tons of talent, but low BB IQ and terrible coaching = crappy team.

Certainly true. We had deity under Norm. It didn't get us very far. I think this year, we have stars in Harrison, Sampson, and possibly Jordan, Sanchez, Hooper, Pointer and Branch. That is depth at the top 100 level. Finally.
