Was told the midnight madness act is going to Lupe Fiasco. Pretty disappointing again, hasn't had a relevant song in quite a while.

Not dissapointed at all if true.

It's 100% confirmed and Lupe Fiasco is not going to draw people in at all. Usually the musical act is meant to draw people in and have them stay the whole time this will not help, students will leave as usual before the end of his performance. He might put on a good show this isn't a concert, they do 2-3 songs max.

Not a big deal either way just saying their is not a much of a buzz on campus about it like a big time act would attract, not as bad as past years tho.

I'd place the blame on the fans, not the rapper, if we can't fill the place.

Plus, Lupe Fiasco has worked on a Howard Zinn-related project, and Zinn-related projects have helped pay my mortgage for the past few years, so he's OK in my book. ;D

Should have gotten Barry Manilow to keep the older portion of the crowd to stay up late!  ;) :)

Wells Fargo does. But perhaps I'll just go on a douchey rant about our poor recruiting so I can get your approval.

Lupe Fiasco is bigtime.  Is there any other team in our conference with as big of an act??  Lupe also writes positive, meaningful rap unlike 95% of the mainstream stuff out there.  Really lookin forward to tomorrow!

You are 100% dead wrong about this. Lupe Fiasco, I would say is a top tier rapper. I mean, who would you be happy with? Kanye? Jay-Z?

the school gives a contract to the artist. at st john's the administration has a rule against using curse words or the n word. if an artist violates this during a performance, he/she is not paid. maybe that's why big time artists don't want to perform here. plus carnesecca is terrible concert venue.

I will not change my opinion but relax, the music act unless it is someone huge doesn't attract or make people not come to the event. It's like 2-3 songs at the end when people leave. It's about the basketball and showing the fans a team that's going to win a lot games this year
