Lindsey & Pelle w/87ers (Wilmington, DE)

Nurideen Lindsey and Norvel Pelle are both with the D-League team in Wilmington, DE.  The 87ers, although the relevance of 87 isn't immediately hitting me.  I have to say I'll be curious, burned some mental energy over a recruiting season on Pelle and have never seen him play a minute.  Interested to see how the Lindsey career finally plays out.  Apparently all the games will be shown live on the internet, youtube steaming or something.

Oh, if anyone remembers Aquille Carr -- he is on the team too.  He was a Seton Hall signee not so long ago but opted to play abroad.

I'm almost a little embarrassed to have posted this stuff.  But I know I'd tune into one of those games out of curiosity!

Delaware was one of the 13 colonies participating in the American Revolution and on December 7, 1787, became the first state to ratify the Constitution of the United States, thereby becoming known as The First State

Thanks for the explanation, Foad.  Still, it doesn't roll off the tongue like the 76'ers

I always liked the name "The 59ers" for us and this seems to be in the same vain.  A somewhat obscure reference that most won't get.

My thinking was we play in Queens and Manhattan with the two boroughs connected by the 59th street bridge for those too cheap to pay the toll.  Hence, the St. Johns 59'ers.  Pretty bad, huh?

And if that was our name back when the Ingram scandal hit, the Post would have blared "ST. JOHN'S 69ERS" on the back page.

Hey, I like that name.  Makes me think back to the good ole days before I was married.

Aurora Illinois. I was very excited to drive through their recently, until I discovered that the only thing from the actual city in the movie was the sign reading "Welcome to Aurora"
