Obviously we are not going to play as well as last game, but as long as we play well I will be happy. Put together two good games in a row is most important thing. Playing with house money as far as I am concerned. By my preseason prediction we are actually a game ahead of what my prediction would be at this point.

Obviously a win would be tremendous for us and the conference, but I just want to be in the game the entire time no matter what.   If we shoot well enough, we should be able to at worst keep up with them.  We finally have the horses

Our fans should pipe down a bit honestly.

Agree. Let's play hard, smart & compete. Win or lose, that will set tone for rest of season.

Just didn't like hearing our fans chant we want Cuse.  We have done nothing to earn that and like the Cuse fans said, be careful what you wish for.

No doubt. Respect these guys, they have earned it. Time for us to get the same from them.  One way to do that, "Compete"! The "Rex Ryan" approach is stupid, as he found out. That coming from a Jet fan.

I love that our fans are excited. But agree that we have to chill with the comments.  And it starts by example. Our twitter guy was going back and forth with the Cuse social media guy yesterday on Instagram. I thought it was pretty stupid from our part. You expect it from fans but not someone from the school

Fordham game was nice, but I think people are taking to much away from that. We will never shoot that way again, no one will. I liked the way we played and the one takeaway I do have believe it or not was not Sanchez but Jordan. Showed the promise everyone has been talking about. I would like him to build on it.

Agree with you. And I think Sunday we'll know if we have the PG we've been hoping for. We've never been able to break the zone. This is Sheed's moment.

I also expect a big game from Jamal.

We may never again shoot like we did against Fordham but I think that game was important because it gave our guys confidence offensively, and more so than any other team, you need to make quick decisions against their zone.  We need to be aggressive and quick with decisions, and a blow out win like we had helps in that department.

If we're overthinking and holding the ball as we swing it around the perimeter, that'll be a death knell in this game.
Quick penetration and extra ball-movement is what I'll be looking for in the first few minutes.

I didn't see what you were referencing but it could be something tongue and cheek like when two city mayors playfully joy at eachother and make bets before a World Series or Super Bowl etc...

The trash talking  back and forth  highlights the importance of the game--it also highlights a begrudging respect for the opponent.  there was none of it for locals Wagner or Fordham nor for Big 10 Wisconsin or Penn State.  I also don't think we will see any during our conference to this extent.  It is why "fans" is derived from fanatics.  I have sat through too many non competitive games against them and some extremely close ones over the years to not want payback.  When it comes--it will be sweet.  I hope we have something to savor Sunday around 2PM.

I think we have to deny the 3PT line for Cooney and Ennis to be successful.  If we can control that aspect we definitely have  a shot.  Excuse will not be a team we can run into the ground and dominate the second half.  We need to keep it close in first half as they were up on Fordham by more than us at the half.  What we learned versus Fordham was not to let up when we had someone down for a change.

Still a tough matchup for us.  Grant, Fair, and Christmas can match our front court athleticism and length..easily..

We better box out better than we did against Fordham or we will see a lot of Fair and Grant..Can't rely on athleticism alone to get possession on defensive end.

I think we matchup favorably in the backcourt.. Our depth will help us..  Need to run...Don't be a afraid to push.. Need to maximize possessions and shots.

good pre-game summary.  Boxing out of utmost importance, plus pursuit of rebounds is essential test in matchup-matchup D...

Would you rather have Fair Grant and Christmas or Sampson Sanchez and Obekpa?

their experience and discipline gives them an edge.  Fair is the best of the 6.   Slight edge SU..

Very tough question. For this year id go with them, by a small margin.

Think it depends on what we can normally expect from Orlando.   If he's hitting jump shots and making interior passes, then that's a very valuable skill-set.    But if he's going to float around the perimeter and not hit his shots, or cough the ball up in transition.. then I give the edge to SU.

I don't think we know what Sanchez is yet.  I think Fair is the best player of that group, and Grant is the best pro prospect (I've seen him projected in the lottery or right outside it for this year).  So while I like our group, I think Cuse's front line definitely has the edge.

This is the year we all been waiting for. We are going to be good, and there's no one we can't compete with or most likely beat at home. All the guys must do is bring their balls. I'm counting on D'Lo , Dom and Phil to keep them reminded.

Moo Moo is not projected for the lottery. He only recently moved up in the 2nd round projections on draftexpress.  He'll stay his junior year imho.

Fair is great. Grant is as good as Sampson. Maybe better. Obekpa is way better than Christmas.

My thoughts exactly.  Fair is the best of the 6, Christmas the worst.  Grant is probably a little better than Sampson at this stage, and Sanchez is TBD.  Cuse has the edge.

While we are here...
Ennis Cooney Gbinije or  Jordan Harrison Pointer ?

Don't forget Phil the 4th and Branch--this is where we have an advantage of numbers as we have to constantly challenge Cooney and Ennis from 3PT line.  how this component of the game plays out can be the difference maker
