Ennis is slow

After having heard your description of Syracuse over the past week I expected a better showing yesterday. The front court is soft, Fair can't go right, Ennis is slow and Boeheim is overrated. Hard to believe they hung with us as long as they did with all their shortcomings.

You seem to be misconstruing just about everything I've said.  I explained the cj Fair argument in another post.  Ennis is not a quick nor very athletic player.  I never said he wasn't good.  John stockton wasn't real fast either, but was excellent.

I've also never said the Syracuse frontcourt was soft.  I said their post players have been underwhelming.  I still was not blown away by Coleman nor Christmas yesterday, but they did a better job than in the past.

What Lefty has ever gone right?

Watch Fair.  He not only cant go to his right hand at all, but can't drive when forced to the right either.  The kid is excellent.  It will just be an Achilles heel for him when talking about him as an nba prospect.

Isn't that the same as Karr who can't go to his left?

Kenny Anderson, Jalen Rose and Brandon Jenningsall don't go right. Not to mention frontcourt guys like Berry and Bosh
Before my time but HOFer Lenny Wilkens suppodedly never went right either.
It is not easy making guys who are really good or great go where they don't want to go.

Yup.  I've always thought Fair and Jakarr were very similar players.  Fair just has better range and is better at being under control when handling the ball and driving.  I hope jakarr can continue to hone his game like Fair.

It wasn't my observation at the game.  It was the guy behind me shouting it whenever Fair touched the ball. I noticed it though.  Those guys you mention are a different story.  They could almost all create going right or left.  Fair has a particularly hard time with it.  Our defense cued on it during first half.  During second we allowed him to make too many set shots.

You forgot to mention Grant, who did work against us and Fair who shot very well. Give credit where it is due.

Where did I fail to give credit?  Just making observations from. The game and responding to Fun's post.  I never mentioned Grant when calling them underwhelming.  Grant is excellent.  He's not a post guy though.

It was nice of Sanchez to volunteer to be on a couple of posters for Grant. The vicious dunk and a block a couple minutes after that almost killed a cheerleader

I think that was him too. Block on Sanchez happened about a minute after he got dunked on. Grant spiked it like he was playing volleyball

Maybe when he did that spin move in to traffic at the end?  That wasn't really a block, but that's all I can think of.

Wow... No way I see Ennis staying 4 years.. I'd be shocked.  Reminds a little bit of Andre Miller.  fro what I've seen.  Great player for a freshman.

Agree w/ WASJU ( shocking) about lefties.  That was the first thought that came to my mind. What lefties do go right?    Mullin did.  Derrick Coleman... Not many

You really think those two are similar? I don't think so at all. One is one of the most polished players in the college game, smart, heady, and under control. The other is a great athlete who has some good skills but lacks in smarts.

Catch and shoot 15 footers and incredible athleticism around the tin.  His handle is atrocious.

@JonRothstein: Stanford, Rick Barnes, + Rysheed Jordan coming on for St. John's. 5 observations from this week @CBSSports http://t.co/Vw4gwJJrFu  #sjubb

5. Rysheed Jordan is beginning to come into his own for St. John's

The 6-4 freshman has a combined 23 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in the Red Storm's last two games and is starting to show flashes of the potential he displayed when he was on the AAU circuit. A lead guard with great size at 6-4, Jordan has an uncanny ability to get to the foul line and keep the defense on its heels with regularity. His progression will be a major factor in determining whether or not St. John's is able to finish in the top half of the Big East and reach the NCAA Tournament.
