Has anyone ever gotten a midseason waiver? If he wanted to go home, it makes more sense to stick it out until the end of the spring semester.

Also, when did second semester begin basketball wise? If he played one game into the new semester, also another reason to stay.  If posters are truly worried about him leaving, it's six months too early to think this thing is done.

He could have done what Branch did and be eligible for second semester next year.  Apparently the cutoff game was the Youngstown game, which is also why some were nervous.  I don't think transferring is going to solve any ills he has.  Philly is right next door to NYC.  He can leave campus now and be there before lunch.  It's not like he's far from home.   Whatever he's dealing with, I'm not sure of.  None of us really know though.  I'm pretty sure Lavin can deal with it though.  Hopefully Rysheed is back, playing and builds something here like Harrison has.

I'm glad that I'll see Jordan in uniform today.  I was surprised that there was so little banter on the boards over the situation and impressed that for the most part posters paid respect to the explanation put out there by the coach.

Let's look forward to the game today and get behind this team.

This final game before the real season is an uneasy one.  There's no room in the loss column for a let down.

I tried read back a few pages of this thread and there has been a lot of puzzling happenings in St. John's hoops.

Activating Felix now, with no one on the team being injured is really quite puzzling, unless someone was going to transfer. So Baldi isn't so far fetched in his opinion.

He basically forfeited a half a year twice now. Having him redshirt this year made a ton of sense from a playing time perspective and overall scholarship balance standpoint too.

As for Jordan he's had a lot of people in his ear back home. I think he's had a tough time dealing with a number of things which have been magnified by the fact he has missed some random games. I truly don't know the whole story with this as it has been very hush. I think in the end it all works out.

Lastly Marco Baldi has been a poster here since day 1. He's a fan of St. John's and you can't take everything he says so damn seriously. I think you guys should all know who likes to joke, exaggerate, serious, or be talked off the ledge. I'm not sure with what being a fan or not being a fan has to do with posting here. We've had a lot of guys over the years who root for other teams be welcomed posters here and I can say Baldi isn't one of them. He roots for St. John's and he so happens to root for Iona too. Not uncommon. Everyone lighten up a bit and enjoy.

If there is a problem...PM me or any of the mods. We'll monitor and handle any issues. No need to call each other names.

For one, I'm not buying that he's a SJU fan.  He's an Iona fan. It does make  a difference, because he then goes on to rag on SJU calling it a second rate program, make up stuff about Jordan as if it's fact etc.  Maybe because you know the guy it comes off as innocuous, but as you can see from the responses he gets by lots of posters, it's a real annoyance.

When certain posters have no response, they bring up Iona and call me a non fan. Some posters who are real close to the program , know the situation and are absent from this thread. Why is that? You should be thanking me for posting the truth

He got sent home to figure out if he really wants to be a part of this program. He needs to get his act together, hopefully that happens.

Can you see why almost all posters feel you lack credibility?

As much as I hate to admit it Baldis explanation makes as much sense as anything I read. specifically when coupled w missing the first game of 2nd semester, his suspension, the activation of Felix andcPaultzmans educated prediction.

Baldi, is this speculation ?  Didn't you post that Lavin was leaving this job two years back?

No, that is how it went down. Put the pieces together.

It is great to have him back. With all the  challenges he faces, I think he could really benefit from  a supportive, smart guy like John Lucas. He not only was able to overcome his own difficulties, but understands kids like Rysheed.  I am not suggesting JL in particular, but a similar strong mentor to help him through  difficult times. I sense he needs some guidance to help him achieve great things. I sense he , like many other kids today, has the wrong folks in his ear.

Not saying that I don't believe this is possible, but isn't it an odd time to take issue with the program? Jordan had his 3 best games as a Johnny before leaving the team to be with his mother. Isn't it possible that's all that this is?

Quite frankly, we shouldn't even need Jordan to beat Youngstown State. His teammates were probably cool w him not being there. They seem like a mature group overall.

Baldi puts forth a plausible theory for the chain of events surrounding the absences of Jordan this year. Also, we know from D'lo's situation last year that Lavin won't hesitate to suspend even the team's best player during a push for the tourney for disciplinary reasons.   Let's hope that, whatever the reason, Jordan comes out better for it, and only leaves SJU for the draft.

When you say put the pieces together it appears that your speculating. He missed the Youngstown game due to family issues, or is that a lie? Felix is activated because Branch and Dom are not doing well offensively, throw the stats out the window. The two games prior to Felix being activated, Branch and Dom looked terrible. If Felix impressed in practice and the coach believes he could help, why not activate him its a important year for the program. We are not winning any Big East titles because of Felix, if his presence lights a fire under Dom, which it appeared to due by Felix starting over Dom in the Youngstown game, then its a good move. What exactly is Jordan doing that he needs to get his act together or would make the staff want to send him home? Everything Jordan has done thus far demonstrates he wants to be with the program.

I said put the pieces together because posters think I just posted this to stir the pot.

As for what Jordan needs  to do, I think paultzman summed it up perfect. Draw your own conclusions

The issues is that Baldi comments can be very snarky. Instead of saying there are sources that saying that Jordan was told by SL that he needs to decide what he wants to do. He will post Jordan is gone, or he is going to Temple. The facts come after the antagonistic headline. The fact that he is a big Iona fan.

Baldi is not a hater, but he is an antagonizer

What fun would that be?

Snarky. I can deal with that. I've been called worse. Rest assure, Jordan was close to gone
