Poison killing it this thread.

FWIW DJ Kennedy is the toughest player ive seen at st johns. People are saying Dom is a really tough player, I dont really agree. He's no where near as tough as DJ.

Did dj ever slug someone in the face?

Are you thinking of Evans who rumor has it punched out some kid who was dogging on the team at a party?

Donny Marshall, former Uconn player was dirty, and I remember him f'ng w Minlend, and both players getting suspended by the league. I have despised Uconn ever since. Minlend was the toughest STJ player I can remember. Postell, Brust, Williams, Grant, Artest and one guy that won't get credit for it, Cedric Jackson are my top STJ tough guys.

It certainly wasn't about talent. And while important, on it's own, it's not enough. Grant, Minlend, Postell, Hamilton etc were all on the same team that couldn't pass, shoot or win. It wasn't until Artest arrived that things turned.

Agreed. Good post Poison. But  whAts worse, not getting the talent and losing. Or getting the top talent and still losing? Frustrating as hell rooting for this team

We are getting better quality talent and competing. We have seen that the quality of player that Lavin has brought in has improved each year. We are still looking for that program changer, but once we land him, the pieces will be in place to make a run.

How long I gotta wait?

It's a process. Rome wasn't built in a day.

toughest players I've ever seen at SJU was Charles Minlend and Matt brust

Kevin Williams would have had Matt Brust wearing lipstick and a dress.

No, he was to tough to throw a cowardly punch like that. You thought that was tough?

I forget who it was but that did happen. I believe ironically it might have been post georgetown game too.

Poison with some great comments.  Also in regards to toughest i have seen... i will go with Artest.  He brought an edge to his teams while, played fundamental basketball, and brought it EVERY game.  That is toughness (Although he could knock your head off also if he wanted to.)

A loss is a loss whether it's by 50 or 10. Losing to bum teams with this talented roster is just as bad as losing by 40 with a non big east talented roster such as Norms

Not, not really Baldi.

You feel better about this program now than when Norm was here?

Guns not included but I thought Jayson WIlliams was pretty tough and no one could throw could come close to his chair throwing ability

As bad as things seem now, I could still see us turning this thing around. I never felt that way with Norm

Also, is iona so pathetic that you dont have a board to post abt iona on? We dont care.
