We need D-LO to be the closer

Honestly I don't think that's the type of player he is. Unfortunately.

Bullsh*t

Still don't think so. We give up way too many big leads. Also, he hit them tonight, but I am not confident with Dlo at the line for 2 with the game on the line.

making a big deal out of nothing. Dom tried to dunk.  Providence guy wouldn't let him.. end of story..  Jeez

Yup I think Dom probably should of just took it up top but I dont blame Dom and I dont blame Carson. Good old fashion hard foul. As long as no one got hurt I dont think its a big deal

I think Lav stuck with Dom a little too much in 2nd half. When team was stagnant and Harrison was on the bench I would have liked to see Branch on the floor and let him and Sheed rotate of the ball. You have 2 creators on the floor.

Thought Sanchez could have maybe snuck in there too but hey a win is a win.

Team came out of the gates strong which is so important on the road. Hats off to them. Loved the full court pressure to start things off and they stung the Friars.

Jordan is really starting to turn it up! Also love that Obekpa is inserting himself offensively. Teams can't cheat on SJU defensively anymore with everyone on the floor contributing.

To be fair guys, we would want one of our guys to do the exact same thing if the tables were turned.

I can't get mad at the dude for the foul. I just don't get why Cooley didn't call his players off rather than do a half ass engage to foul. Not even NBA teams do that.

Exactly 100% agree. Im in the camp that thinks it was bush league by dom.

Good win though and an absolutely fantastic 28 minutes. Rysheed was phenominnal and I have no problems saying he is the most physically talented guard in the big east. Not the best yet, but most talented. Dlo and Jakarr played great as well.

My only questions are why did we go away from the press? Maybe dlo's foul trouble? We built that lead thanks in part of the press and we lost the lead when we stopped. And why no minutes for branch? It really baffles me. Our half court offense became stagnant in the second and he could have aided that.

Also on the last play of the game. I'm not sure if Dom thought shot clock was expiring or what? Dunk wasn't necessary and I don't mind the hard foul. I think Dom did a good job of walking away and whether it was good intention or not he shouldn't have grabbed Pointer after the play.

Like that Sampson (who would have gotten his butt beat) stepped in a defended his teammate sticking his chest out. It is about time these guys start showing some bravado.

Thought it should have been F1 plus double tech but who cares at that point.

Really didn't mind Dom's play. They were trying to force a turnover, Dom broke out of it and the rim was right there. Not saying he had to go for it, but he had every right to if Providence is still trying to steal the ball.

Nice road win. Loved Karr and Sheed performances. Thank you Friars for continually fouling Dlo in the last 1;45 which was interminable. Even Phil got into the passing act with a great bounce pass in the lane that led directly to a basket. Keep getting better, move up in the standings and maybe we can win 3 straight in BET and make selection Sunday a holiday for johnnie fans!

Anyone else get the sense that Cooley hates losing to us a little bit more than some other teams in the conference?  I know reading body language is impossible, but it almost seemed like he really cannot stand losing to Lavin.  Maybe it is because of how the Sanchez/Obekpa/Sampson recruiting battles turned out.

That is fact. Their whole staff does not like SJU and they aren't exactly shy about saying it on the trail.

After seeing Cooley last night I don't expect any comments from him like Buzz gave us. IE that we could beat anyone in the BE.

That comment by Jakarr could apply to persons other than Cooley.

Are you not , in the least bit, happy about how the team played last night or lately, for that matter?  Curious..
