Will someone for the love of Pete get a board!
« on: February 06, 2014, 10:49:37 AM »
I think that the team plays well with the current five but with our entire team trying to block every shot it is just painful to watch the other team on the O-Glass.  We shot over 60% in the first half and P-Town shot 35% we could've and should've been up by more.  It doesn't concern me with teams on our level but against the upper echelon we can't give up 2 or 3 chances.  For as many blocks we get it seems they get as many offensive rebounds and score anyway.

Solutions anyone? (Other than playing with 6)

Interesting article on turnaround & risks going forward, including defensive rebounding.

Of course it stinks to give up the board, but in many cases the guys are fighting through that deficiency and still coming away with the ball. I don't know of a stat for that, but thats what I think I'm seeing. Our guys had a lot to improve on, and not everything happens at once.
