I can get behind Deep Dish.  The best part being....the shape of a pizza is...a CIRCLE.

The best part is that deep dish pizza isn't real pizza.

My suggestions:

Phil "Bad Cholesterol" Greene - he clogs up the offense

Phil Greene "Eggs and Ham" - ditto

Phil "Kelly" Greene - like Bob Kelly, PG gets floor time at the expense of better players

Phil "Ho Ho Ho" Greene "Giant - laughter is the proper response when Phil's defenders point out how many fouls he hasn't committed

Phil "Bunky" Greene - Bunky Greene is a well known tenor sax player. Sorry, did I say tenor? I meant alto obviously.

Phil "Soylent" Greene - Soylent Greene is an excellent food substitute and Phil should be a sub as well

Phil Greene "Acres" - PGiv is to point guards what Oliver Wendell Douglas was to farmers

Gift has been playing great in spot minutes. His job is to come in and play with high intensity for 3-4 sprints. He isn't capable of more on a regular basis.

Sanchez can do things a lot of other bigs in college basketball can't. Did he play well against Butler? Absolutely not. He was awful but that doesn't change the fact he brings versatility and added dimension to this team. His defense is very suspect but have to take the good with the bad.

Sanchez 3-5 fgs 11 rebs is hardly awful.

He was 1-7 not 3-5

But I agree he was hardly awful.

I read it some where but since he had 7 pts and I remember him hitting some foul shots I am sure you are right. Just to add, he was hitting his foul shots at an 85% clip and don't think he missed on Tuesday.

BaldMineBre....

Jordan is our best defensive guard right now..Creates havoc in either zone or man to man D..  Not even close. IMO

Nah commits too many fouls ;)

Now you're learning.

Your right.  He was 5-5 from the line.  He doesn't get to the line nearly enough.  Like a certain other player who will remain nameless.

Carmine, why on earth do you call Greene the Triangle?  If you are just calling him the triangle because its a shape and so is a circle, which is what WASJU calls him, you are really losing a step (or 10) on your nicknaming.
Get with the program kid.  I've been calling Phil random geometric shapes for two years now.  I'll use any shape but a circle.

I'm thinking of going with a new moniker.  "Deep Dish".  It works on two levels; 1) Phil is a Chicago native...a city known for it's deep dish pizza and 2) Mean Joe has now "dished" out assists in 8 straight contest after a mid-season assist slump that had his sizeable fan base clamoring for him to share the rock more productively.  As always with Phil, asked and answered!

I'm used to you being witty.   Resorting to random geometric shapes is just sad.  I can get behind Deep Dish.  The best part being....the shape of a pizza is...a CIRCLE.

Good one!

See I feel bad. I just discovered he has Haphephobia which would explain the 25 free throw attempts and only 28 fouls.

Nice job Doc.  I like em.  Maybe I'll use some of them...NOT!

You are almost in a dead tie with your boon companion Wasju for the boards #1 Phil hating lead.

Why is it a given that Gift is incapable of playing more minutes? My only point is that Sanchez's bad IMO outweigh his good. And I see Gift as a safer play at the 5 while Obekpa is out.

You got what you wanted, hope Gift comes and plays like a man possessed.

To be fair I didn't want him to get NO minutes. But I am excited to see how Gift does in an expanded role.

Gift can do well, if one of two things happens:

1. When he gets the ball in the paint and he is in a position to score, go up strong, and stop putting it on the floor first.
2. In the past few games, I feel like Branch and Jordan have found Gift, and made it pretty easy for him. Let's see some more of that.

Gift is another player who has improved lately. My problem w him is he has bad hands and bobbles the ball frequently. He is however,a strong bodied defender, who plays hard and won't be pushed around.
