Phil played a pretty good game.  Dom had a rough one.  Dlo didn't give us what I expected on offense.  It was an ugly game.  Considering we were short 1-1/2 bigs, it was a good effort.  I wish he had put Gift in there to see what he could have given us.  I really wanted the win.

This game came down to the 3-4 offnsive possessions we had in a row, tied, coming out of the 8 min tv timeout.  We had multiple chances to take a lead and could not convert.   Then nova comes down and hits a 3.

This is a game we should have won.

I think we should have tried branch in w dangelo and rysheed more than we did. Higher bball iq out there and better movememnt and passing if branch had gotten some additional burn over greene or sirdom....

Counldnt agree more about Branch, sir dom has the lowest IQ ive ever seen. I almost kicked my dog when he fould ochefu at half court with 3 seconds left on the shot clock.

Branch needs minutes, the offense was very stagnant in the second half.

Phil played a very good 4 minutes. That free throw he missed that would have gave us the lead and that travel are two huge reasons we werent able to pull it out.

I get the criticism that they could have executed better and Greene travelling at the end hurt but I am actually encouraged much like the Creighton loss. Their only two losses in this stretch are on a last second 3 by McDermott and essentially a hail mary bank 3 by Arch.  Both on the road, both to the two top teams in the conference.

I get it no moral victories, agreed.  But they lost to the #9 team in the country on the road by 3 after they had the ball at the end with a chance to tie or take the lead.  That is not unforgiveable.

Also hit the side of the backboard on a three and missed everything on a driving layup down the stretch. I think he missed all his shots in 2nd half. Played hard and was playing good D on the ball though. Tough game, would have been nice to steal.

Its not, its just disheartening given the opportunities we had.

Just need to forget about this one and focus on Xavier. They got their ass kicked today and are finding themselves on the bubble after it looked like they would cruise to a berth. They are gonna come out with some intensity

Nice try... in the end, too many second chances for Nova...  Lucky bank shot 3.   Harrison not willing to take big shot... Phil choking, and traveling

I dont think it has anything to do with him not "willing" to take the big shot. He made a very good pass.

It was a great pass. Greene should have went straight up with it. He didn't even look at the basket. That's one of the problems with some of our players, they are to indecisive. They played hard though, need to win Tuesday.

There were a lot of reasons we couldn't pull it out. Lots

My takeaway from this game:  we are are going to win the BE tourney because we win this game at MSG. .

Was a good reactionary pass but it really did put Greene in a bad spot there. Not Harrison's fault but would have been a tough shot for Greene.

I hope we get a chance to play these guys at the garden in the BET - I only got to see the last 12 minutes of the game but every close call seemed to go against SJU.  With at least 4 games left in the season I think 21 wins gets us on the bubble and 22 gets us to the dance I think we will do it.

Thought Greene was open for a lay up if he went straight up with it. Tough shot, maybe, but the opening was there on the catch.

Tough loss, we win if Harrison does not have one of his all around worse games ever.  At full strength, with an average game from Harrison, we win by 20.  Nova the most overrated top ten team in decades.  Hope Obekpa is OK for Tuesday against Xavier as that is a more  important game then this one was. See y'all after the season.

Harrison had to make that pass but if you watch it again Greene would have been going up against Ochefu I think

The one ripped my guts out but I am trying to see how this fits into our bigger story.  Obekpa proved he is a warrior and absolutely a team guy.  He has grown up so much in terms of both his skills and confidence, but also with his team first attitude.  I love our team and I know others like me think the best part of the season awaits us: BE tourney and NCAAs.

Hopefully they start a new winning streak but this is the type of game that can come back and bite us. This 3 straight TOs by Nova and we couldn't score a damn point bother more. That separation would have gave us the chance to set the pace and not plat catch up for the rest of the game.

He was going up for it when he saw Greene break loose, right idea, wrong person cutting to basket.

Yeah as bad as Dom played today that would have been a good spot for him to be in instead of Greene. He would have at least gotten fouled
