If scouts are telling JaKarr he could go late first round, then Rysheed Jordan should be a lock for the 2015 NBA all-star game according to them.

Is there a chance we see this? Hopefully Jordan and Obekpa stay but there has been more than rumblings about them. Hopefully Lavin is scouring the Juco's as we speak

If it gets this bad, we can send in Mike Maher.  He still has eligibility.

forgive my ignorance, but about what date do the defection announcements stop?

basically, what date can we sit back and feel good that Obekpa, Jordan...etc are playing for the red storm next season?

If I were betting I say Jordan stays. Obekpa will  be gone. But I did not hear anything about Sampson losing his mind, so who knows.......

Very astute forecast perhaps.

One thing to watch on a team that will be guard orientated. My understanding is things are as bad between Harrison and coaching staff as it ever has been. If things start off poorly next season......

Yikes, i hate hearing this, Harrison had some good quotes to say about the suspension and Lavin earlier this year, hope that wasn't just lip service...

Cant be easy playing for a coach who knows less about the game than you.

We are SJU -- Not doubting your sources, but I have heard from some folks who are semi-close to the program that D-Lo likes Lavin & Co.  He also stated publicly that the suspension last year was a good thing for him.

Only one who I have heard might be leaving is Obekpa.  Then again, I did not think Jakarr would actually jump to the pros.

I heard that he had to eat crow to come back. Heard that from couple different people during the season. Also heard he is exactly the same this year as he was last year towards coaching staff. Did cut down the ref complaining noticeably though. Is what I am hearing def true? Don't know.  Is what I was told that they were hearing.  The two people were close to the program, not sure how much they know now a days but I had heard that two different times during the year. A person on this board also basically said same thing to me recently, so take what from that you want. Again player not liking coach is not anything Earth shattering. Just saying if things start badly next season that bears watching.

Just to clarify, Harrison is not going anywhere, that would make no sense. SO of course that will probably happen lol. My only point is if Lavin is staying, he has to clear up some player/ coach issues from what I have heard and quickly hopefully.

Crowds are too rough down there.  Makes section 114 look pathetic.

I think Jordan, Harrison, and Obekpa all stay.  If anyone were not wearing a SJU uniform next year, it would be Obekpa in my mind.

No, but he coaches my friends daughter's in a basketball camp , and all the parents love him. :o
A family friend is a former older player that is still friends with one of Louie's assistant's that is still involved with program. Also trade emails with another former player from time to time. Just what they heard, they are not there day to day obviously. Someone here basically told me the same thing though.

For what it is worth I am sure the players were frustrated with how season turned out and expected to be in tourney. Human nature to blame someone else. Even if I personally would agree with them ;)

Family fried raved to us about Norm before he was hired so it does go to show you that he has been known to be wrong.

Did anyone play for a good coach that they liked?  At least liked during the season.

I would be very surprised if Jordan left. People need to stop just assuming he will leave, what kind of attitude is that? He and D'Lo are going to have freedom to do whatever they want next year. If he continues to improve like he did this year he will be a first round pick in next years draft. The kid post pictures of himself playing at St. John's saying how much he misses it and wants to play again. I don't see anyway he transfers, he knows this is his quickest ticket to NBA.

Like I said just what  they had heard. Like we both said player and coach don't get along is nothing groundbreaking anyway. Story I heard from someone on here about Harrison / Lavin relationship was worse actually, but unless that person wants to reveal it I am not.
Regardless Harrison not going anywhere and is least of our worries.

This has been an absolutely brutal few weeks for the program. Starting with the Xavier game nothing has gone right. Looks like there's a good chance almost everybody will be gone except the one whose departure would help the program

If any of you follow Rysheed on twitter it seems like he is pretty much coming back next year, not really worried about him.

Obekpa is 50/50 to me. He had a stretch where he played great but other than that looked uninterested for most of the season. Especially how he ended the season with the BET controversy and the dud of a performance in the NIT.
