Harrison is the 25th winner from St John's...the last was Marcus Hatten.

That's a long stretch for a school that's supposed to be the top program in NYC.

Congratulations to Harrison for his incredible hard work...and to Lavin for bringing him here.

He did a lot for this team, and took a beating on the message boards. He's got to be our captain next season, and lead us back to the NCAAs. Good for you Dlo.

How did Hardy not win in 2010-2011?

Actually I just saw that Charles Jenkins won over Hardy.  Jenkins was a really good player and actually had some time in the league, I believe, but still think Hardy should have won in 2010-2011 given the difference in competition.

Jemkins was really good, but wasn't hardy 1st eam Big east and on some all America teams?

Agreed.  DLo deserves the accolade.  He's a tough competitor.  My favorite thing about DLo is how well he plays/finishes off contact.

If there was a SJU bias then as others have pointed out Dwight Hardy would have won the award in 10-11 when SJU went 12-6 in the best conference in the country and Dwight Hardy had huge games over top ranked teams like UCONN, Duke, Pitt and Villanova and was a finalist as the BE POY.
