Harrison is the 25th winner from St John's...the last was Marcus Hatten.

That's a long stretch for a school that's supposed to be the top program in NYC.

Congratulations to Harrison for his incredible hard work...and to Lavin for bringing him here.

He did a lot for this team, and took a beating on the message boards. He's got to be our captain next season, and lead us back to the NCAAs. Good for you Dlo.

Well deserved.

How did Hardy not win in 2010-2011?

Actually I just saw that Charles Jenkins won over Hardy.  Jenkins was a really good player and actually had some time in the league, I believe, but still think Hardy should have won in 2010-2011 given the difference in competition.

Jakarr being second team is disgusting. Evidently the voters were fooled by his meaningless points and rebounds and ignored his atrocious footwork and effeminate screen setting. SMH.

These are all pity votes.  I'd take virtually anyone on our team over the guys on this list.  Puleeeeze!!

congrats to Dlo!  Pretty impressive how he bounced back from last year.  Most people would've run away from adversity...he showed me something by just coming back.  Hopefully we can make a run in his senior year.

Jemkins was really good, but wasn't hardy 1st eam Big east and on some all America teams?

Agreed.  DLo deserves the accolade.  He's a tough competitor.  My favorite thing about DLo is how well he plays/finishes off contact.

@nybuckets Harrison didn't deserve the Haggerty. Armand, Beamon, Brown and English all more valuable. St. John's bias strikes again.

If there was a SJU bias then as others have pointed out Dwight Hardy would have won the award in 10-11 when SJU went 12-6 in the best conference in the country and Dwight Hardy had huge games over top ranked teams like UCONN, Duke, Pitt and Villanova and was a finalist as the BE POY.

Instead of sharing another persons dig, why not just congratulate Harrison for his award..?:
