Angelo Harrison named in top 100
« on: November 03, 2014, 07:59:57 PM »
:)   Mike Rutherford posted an article on his picks for the top 100 NCAA basketball players for 2014-2015 season. Harrison was listed as #42.
Jordan was mentioned  in the also "talked about category.:" Okafor of Duke was named #1 despite the fact that he has never played in a college game.

Neither are in the ESPN Top 100 (Unless they are in the Top 10).  Also SJU has received ZERO votes in both polls.

I saw that as well.  I know I'm a homer but I find it hard to believe there are 100 players better than D'lo...also would find it hard to believe if he ends up in the top 10.

I was expecting to see him between 60-100, when he wasn't, each reveal I have been assuming him to be there and he has not been.  Now I am assuming he won't be mentioned at all...but does that mean he'll end up between 6 and 10?  Bunch of other BE guys were listed, seems odd he is not on any list.  More fuel to the fire, I hope.

Okafor at #1 is insane. At least let him earn something first. Harrison at #42 works for me. I think he's been about that good. We need him to be even better this year.

I saw 1 on espn

That's what I thought. That list is shit. Ranking Whitehead even before Sterling Gibbs is obnoxious. I don't like handing over so much credit to freshman before they even play in one game. Half of those guys could absolutely suck, and usually do.

Bilas mentioned Harrison as a "spotlight" player who didn't make the list....so there's that...thanks ESPN.

Harrison is now a senior and has grown as both a player and a person.  He was handed a suspension at the end of sophomore year and has turned the attitude issues.  I would not be surprised to see him on the pre season Wooden list--he has earned it unlike freshmen with reputations but no substance

Wait until FOX sports names their 100.  D will be in the top 50 or even , maybe top 25.  If you ever want to see a SJU player beak into the ESPN top 100, bring back Mullin and he will get somewhere between 75 th  and 90 or lower.
That goes for all the BE players.
Get used to it. It's all about the money. The BE does nothing for ESPN so ESPN does less for the BE.  I don't know if anyone else has noticed but I can't usually get SJU scores on game night  on ESPN until after 9AM the next day unless one of their teams is playing us.  Show me the money!
I am still happier we are with FOX as I look to the future. They used to b e small in cable news and NBC was big at one time. Their formula is better in the long run and they have the money.

ESPN ranked Harrison #44 out of high school and even thought enough of him to have him announce live. He has delivered every single season and more than half of the guys above him have left for the pros as well as half of the guys ranked above his spot the last two years.

Way to be consistent.  If there was ever a recruit that lived up to his ranking, it's Harrison.  Even a biased list would put him between 60-80.

No reasonable person can conclude Harrison isn't among the 100 best players in college ball this year.
