There is a scene in the movie Ruthless People where one cop looks at another cop and says "This may be the stupidest person on the planet......should we shoot him?" That quote sums up my feelings about anyone who thinks Jordan should not start!
Your attempts at humor aside, very few people believe Jordan should not start.

If you tolerate stupidity even on a small scale, then you are part of the problem. And WASJU is always part of the solution! Besides what difference does the number on here matter if the coach thinks it is a good idea?

Yeah stupidity for having an opinion and thinking Branch should start.
See now if I say something in response, I'll get banned right Dave.  So guess I gotta shhh while this guy say me and two others are stupid.

You guys whine and whine about not getting talented players and you get them and then you whine about them. I don't care how many turnovers he commits, Jordan is far and away the most talented player on the team. If you are so worried about turnovers maybe Greene should play the point. He never turned the ball over. Of course he never went anywhere either. Turnovers happen, Jordan is young and he is a playmaker. He is going to make mistakes but they are at least aggressive mistakes.

Here is one for you I don't even think Branch should play over Greene. Don't know what it is with some of you and Branch? Guy plays one good game, then follows that with four ordinary games and you think he is the next coming of Mark Jackson. Jordan can be special and if we are going to go anywhere he will be a big part of it. Branch is what he is, a guy who can play some minutes off the bench, which means once and awhile he will play really well and most the time he will be an ordinary basketball player.
So yes if you think Branch should start over Jordan you do not know anything about basketball. Heck even Lavin knows Jordan is better. Last game was a punishment.

Yes if you think he should start over Jordan that is the equivalent of thinking 2 plus 2 equals 9. An opinion is you think Branch should start over Greene. I disagree but I would not call that stupid.

If you respond with your opinion on why you think Branch should start, and don't include any personal attacks, or whiny paragraphs about how everyone on the board is out to get you, I think you should be fine.

ok, time to respond, not in a nasty way.

" I don't care how many turnovers he commits, Jordan is far and away the most talented player on the team."
So RJ could have 3 turnover in the last :30 in a one possession game right? Because "he's the most talented player on the team."?

Yeah of course everyone knows that Jordan is better, and should start.
But lets rewind to the Gonzaga game. In 38minutes RJ had 9 turnovers although he did get 18pnts, mean in 21 minutes Branch had 0 turnover, and no he didn't get a single point.
So what would you rather have: A PG who can score but is reckless, or a PG who doesn't score and takes care of the rock?

Most of RJ's turnovers occured when? When he drove to the hoop and tried to kick it out. I think that could happen vs. Cuse as well.
Would love to see RJ when driving, stop and take the fade away jumper, that was deadly for Micheal Jordan.

Finally, 9 turnover, that could have been 18pnts. More realistically, they would score anyway on all 9 possessions, but say if they did score on 5 of those 9, instead of losing by 7, we beat Gonzaga by 3. I know you don't care about that though, as long as he had his 38minutes.

To me, if you're hurting the team, you sit. Doesn't matter who you are.

Teams generally don't bench their best players no matter what. That is why John Starks shoots 2-18 in a final. Why Carmelo now seems to shoot 7-24 every game and at this stage so does Kobe. Artest was having a truly awful Elite 8 game against Ohio State, no one was yelling at the tv to take him out. It was one game. I understand 9 to's are too much  and if he does that every game then we have a problem.
My issue was he played poorly, the same way sometimes DLO might shoot 2-14. It happens but to me it is not a punishable offense. If a player is hurting the team, I can actually understand taking him out of THAT game. As I discussed above though, that rarely happens. My issue was benching him the next game. That is something you do for disciplinary reasons, not for playing poorly the previous game and especially not if you are one of the two best players on the team.

To add one further thing, IMO the way this team is constructed, there is nothing Harrison, Jordan, Pointer and Obepka can do wrong ON THE COURT that warrants not starting the following game

He played great last year against Syracuse and should start.  Coach should tell him two turnovers and you sit for a rest.

Regardless of if you think Jordan should start or not - does anybody see any improvement in his game from last year? I don't. In fact, it seems to me like he has regressed a little. However, same thing was though of Sampson at this point last year and he turned it up eventually so I hope to see 23 do that as well, preferably by leading the team to victory today

Again we have 4 clear cut guys that have to start every game, so if any of them do not start for basketball related reasons I will bring it up. The lineup  and rotation  for this team is an easy one for coach. The only way we don't make the tourney is if Lavin sabotages it.  So to answer your question hopefully we never see another one of these starting lineups threads.

I think Jordan has definitely improved....defensively....shot selection....penetrating......fewer turnovers (admittedly a relapse against Zags), seems stronger....less foul prone...better attitude....more scoring...

I think we'll see it all in stats as year goes on
