Really liked Shamorie Ponds this summer. It's a great start for Saint John's. There's still nothing like NYC kid playing in the Garden.

NYC kids also put their friends and relatives in the stands.

perhaps he is getting connecting flight. He was going to see Freudenberg, who I thought was back in school in Germany.

Noticed Matt follows Get Better Academy in Prague on Twitter.  Assume that is where he is headed prior to seeing Freudenberg in Munich.

The boys have pretended they were Pond's on the school yard plenty in the last year. This is the biggest recruit we have gotten since Artest. He is ranked higher then Harrison, hope he is as good. Harkless only stayed a year. Hoping Ponds stays 4. Very excited!  WE ARE

I'm excited we landed Ponds, but I don't think his commitment is any, bigger than the day we landed Harkless or Harrison.  Hindsight, no one thought Harkless would stay a season, and Harrison and Ponds rankings were nearly identical.

BTW-I got good confirmation that Cooley and his staff definitely played up the idea that Ponds should think twice playing for an "All-White staff " at SJU.
