Sounds confident about recruits for next year.

Can we dream on a starting 5 of Jordan, Sampson, Freeman, Diallo and Chris O next year (the twin towers!)?  I know, I know, not likely to be happen from what we read.

"recruiting is the least of my concerns".   Ok, go do it Lavs.
Maybe he does have something up his sleeve after all.

His comments about expecting Harkless and Sampson here this season are nonsense though.  After watching Mo play for about 10 minutes his freshman year I knew that if he made it to his junior season I'd be pleasantly surprised.  And while many thought Sampson should have returned this year, he wasn't lasting four years either.

We didnt lose Amir to professional baseball. He was forced to transfer because we ran out of scholarships for Sheed.

We did not recruit well last year. He can spin it that he's not worried and I think he's very capable of putting together a decent class this spring, but let's not act like we are in a good position right now.

Which college is Amir playing basketball for this season?

He transferred 2 years ago and was on the CS Northridge basketball roster last year and was on the bench and practiced with them . He quit basketball just recently after his great season this summer.

He was just added to Reds 40 man roster. He made the right choice, as a basketball player he was very ordinary but I loved his heart in his two years at SJU.

I'm not saying he made the wrong choice and I'm aware he is strictly playing baseball now but he left SJU with the intention of still playing basketball. To say he left SJU for professional baseball is a flat out lie. He left because we had too many players under scholarship and he was the player Lavin needed the least.

Unless you know something we don't, there is no proof that he was forced to transfer.

In the end he did leave to play professional baseball, a sport he got a nice signing bonus.

He left to play basketball.   He took a scholarship at Cal Northridge.   Stop misconstruing history.

How many games did he play for Cal Northridge?

Your stating its "a flat out lie". Is your statement why Amir left based on assumption that many have made on this board or do you know that to be certain? If your premise is based on the statement that Amir was needed the least that couldn't be further from the truth. True as it stood someone had to leave, however, there where other candidates on the roster that could have been pushed away if Lavin inclined to do so, certainly not a serviceable player in Amir. It could just be the truth.

He sat out his transfer year (on the bench), and then after he blew up with the Red this summer, he announced he wasnt going back to basketball after all.
