I agree. What would happen to this country if every time someone's grandma died, they acted like a 6 year old girl? But that's not the real issue here. Lavin isn't suspending him for grieving.
I'm yet to find a report that says this is a suspension. Every report I've seen (other than hearsay on this site) has stated that he is leaving for personal reasons. Re: your follow up point that you better be Dwight Howard good to create so many issues...I agree with that. My only question is whether or not this is a created issue, or an 18 year old grieving another death in the family. I supported the D'lo disciplinary suspension, and would support a Jordan disciplinary suspension if it came to that. But as I said, I won't kill an 18 year old for being upset about losing a loved one and needing to take time off because of it.
Suspension, quitting, call it alien abduction if it makes you feel better. Kid is gone. Time to move on. Not going to be easy. 2 months till spring training

Screw that man, how bout 20 minutes till the fifteenth ranked team in the country plays a big game on its home court.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Our 2nd best offensive option is Phil Greene. Granted I am severely disappointed, but if I were you I  would cut those rankings out and save them because won't see top 25 for... who knows when.

Hardship waiver coming?

Didn't they change the transfer rules this year? I remember hearing when that happened hardship waivers would be much more difficult to obtain.

Maybe his entourage can "create" a hardship waiver?

His homey Phat Geez has to be the worst rapper i've ever heard, still, that being said, I would bet on Phat Geez getting out of Philly before Sheed.

we gotta do a better job of recruiting our own backyard and getting serviceable players, I flip on uconn vs Florida and facey, samuel and Calhoun all on the court at the same time. Seton hall upsets uconn spearheaded by khadeen and the toughness of desi.

Chilleb - I agree except the perception I have, as an outsider, is that so many kids want to leave NYC unless there is a specific reason (ie, the hiring of Tiny and Antigua). We got Mo, Chris and Felix. We went after Whitehead hard (Desi was part of that deal).  But if I'm wrong and it is an issue of simply having the right staff, than I am all with you.

Lots of rumors swirling around here. And I understand why everyone expects the worst. Rysheed has been a headache from the minute he stepped on campus. He's missed more games for non-injury related reasons than any player I can remember. While it wouldnt shock me if he never suits up again, I just wanted to remind everyone that when Lavin suspended D'Angelo there was no attempt at a cover up. This was the only statement released by the team:
http://www.redstormsports.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/030113aac.html
So why wouldn't they just do this again if it was simply a disciplinary action? Just playing devils advocate here...

However we waste scholarships on non big east players, bourgault, Felix , Christian jones , so many other kids I think can perform at higher levels than these guys

Lavin has to go. No results, no class for next year, and the recruits he does get are ineligible, suck, or are total headcases (Jordan) for the most part. Enough is enough. People drank the kool aid because they beat teams they should beat in non conference play...wow big whoop. 0-2 in BE play and Jordan probably done. Fire the snake oil salesman. Guy us worse than a used car dealer

I agree.  I'd be looking for a new coach ASAP.  Not bringing this guy back. I've seen enough.   Jordan mess final straw.    This Jordan thing could be seen coming for a long time.. Is anyone actually surprised?

I love to give Baldi grief, but on this one, I kinda knew he would eventually get it right..  Matter of time..

Consider the line crossed for me..  I want a new coach next season.

For those of you who are saying we are better off w/o him, you are going to find out in a couple of hours how wrong you are. We are not a tourney team any longer. Thanks to good start, if we can go 500 in BE we may be able to sneak in, but that is about the best we can hope for. BTW from what I am hearing no shot he comes back either.
Most sensible people acknowledge losing Jordan further weakens an already thin roster. His talent could have been a difference maker. Unfortunately he just can't get himself together apparently.
For us to do anything he was eventually going to have to be our 2nd best player. Weakens? This is basically a death blow!
I guess I was trying to say that with "difference maker" reference. Obviously he was the only player who could complement Dee's scoring in a meaningful way. I am very upset to lose him, but will submit my post to you next time to ensure you approve the message. Geez
What are you an old lady? Or just Boo with another sign on? Don't be so sensitive! Yes I disagreed with "weakens" as IMO that is the equivalent of the Knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail saying losing both his arms and legs was only a flesh wound.
No need to get insulting.
