With no rysheed, we now do not have a single recruited player giving us significant production since 2012.

That is embarrassing for the staff.

I'm not on the fire lavin bandwagon yet. Waiting to see what '15 turns out to be and I actuallylike Myles Stewart and jay henderson, although they aren't scholarship players lavin was smart enough to snag both 6'5 wings who I believe can actually contribute down the road along with ADR who is actually a big east level talent. All this marseillo talk though has to stop. For people in the know he's really not what you think. My pic would be Jim larranaga.

Don't know if Larranaga would come, it might cut into his social security benefits.

You don't go from Miami to this cess pool. Have you been there?

I agree. Someone the players and their entourages are afraid of. Like Bobby Knight.  He could personally strangle every single hanger on, and only have enough energy left for yelling and some light slapping.

Marseillo isn't as loved as you all think, he burns a lot of bridges  Will keep it at that.

NYer with some stones-better snap up Rex before an NFL team gets him. We would have a great defense and since we have never run much of an offense anyway it should work.

I like Bobby Hurley, but I'd be open to Chris Mullin.

Antigua.
Guy was shot in the head.  Balls, street cred, whatever you want to call it, he has it.
his USF team is struggling but anyone would struggle with that roster this season.

So being shot in the head is now a positive thing? Maybe he can hire an assistant that was stabbed or run over by the 5 train. That would really be cool.

It means he can relate to some players who have come from less than ideal backgrounds.   That's all.
Baldi said the next coach should  have some balls.   To me, antigua has that in spades.  Nothing was handed to him.
He has a ton of other things going for him as well, learned from Dixon and Calipari, been to Final Fours, was a CHSAA guy himself at St Rays right?, Dominican national team coach, etc.
You can do a lot worse than go with a young guy like that.

Rysheed Jordan's leave of absence from St. John's is, in part, b/c he's grieving the loss of his grandmother who died Friday, source told BR

I was just joking with you, but I have never heard being shot in the head used as a positive. Glad I have no street cred then :)

What gets me with this whole situation is that Jordan benefits from buying in this year and getting his act together. If he plays within the team concept, we get to the NCAA's, maybe win the BE tourney, and get him plenty of exposure to play wherever he wants to play next year.  For the seniors, it gives them the missing piece. And for Lavs it probably gets him the extension.  Shame that the young man and his entourage can't see through that. Because it will be a monumental waste of talent.

The majority view here is that the kid is the problem. But I think most of us would live with him being a problem this year if it resulted in the team having the year a lot of us thought they would two games ago.
