He was clearly suspended. U know that.

I did know he was in trouble, we all did. We didnt know he was suspended. He didnt say for how long, just that he wouldnt be starting, maybe I am wrong about that.  But at that point, up twenty, at home, 18 minutes left, team playing GREAT, why not just sit him for the game and call it a one game suspension. Just my opinion.

Have to agree with AMase. The only thing announced was that he was not starting. When he didn't play the first half and they were up 20 I didn't expect to see him at all.

Fine. Still can't blane the coach for a healthy player rolling his ankle. If anything Harrison should have been sitting. Not our 5 best player.

To be clear Tony, if the incident at butler didn't happen then I wouldn't have a problem with it.  I said it as he was checking in, not after he got hurt.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

A lot of fans have said they are nervous for this game and I share in that somewhat. But my feeling is if we cant beat an injured, downward spiraling team at home on senior day then we have no shot at the tournament anyway. The team has come out flat in some games against teams that have played well but with a sold out crowd and last game at CA for the seniors, if they come out flat then there's a huge problem and hello NIT. Don't see this happening btw, think we win by 10 but if it does season over.

Can't wait for Saturday.

Johnnies 79
Hall 65

The seniors shine on their day.

A sweep of Xavier coupled with a must win here could have all of us saying 'what bubble?' come Tuesday morning.

8-7 in the BE w no wins vs top 25 teams the entire season puts us on the bubble.
We need to beat somebody that we're not supposed to beat. Seton Hall and Xavier won't cut it. We need Nova or Butler.

9-9 with a BET win or 10-8 and we're in.  Let's not make this more difficult than it has to be, and handle our business at home.

I maybe in the minority but I would sit Obepka. He's is cleary not healthy at all, think a few more days off would do him good. He hasn't been helping us these last few games. Play small and use Amar a lot with Joey mixed in a little bit.

How is this a trap game? That doesn't make any sense? Seton Hall is a big rival.

Well they're missing their best player, and possibly another player (Mobley, don't know what the update on his injury is), so it's a game we are certainly expected to win, sandwiched between 4 games vs Georgetown and Xavier.  This year, at this time, it's a trap game.  Yes, they are our rival, so you would hope that would be enough, but this is a game that even Dom Pointer himself acknowledged we have trouble getting up for.  Hopefully they realize their backs are against the walls in every game from here on out.

It's Senior Day, there should be no problem getting up for this game- no matter the opponent

Good point.  Let's hope they get the message and crush SHU.

Mobley will play.

To quote Rysheed Jordan's tweet prior to him suffering his one game debilitating knee injury, "I have a bad feeling".
SHU 82
SJU 75
Harrison and Obekpa still banged up and I think Whitehead has a huge game.

I don't see us beating Gtown or Nova, so my thinking now is doesn't matter what we do next 5 games. We have to win BET regardless to get in.

because of SJUs recent history every game we are expected to win is a trap game....most absurd term ever....we are always desperate  for wins to reach the recent seemingly unattainable goal of the tournament.  Because of our lack of consistency, poor recruiting and mediocre coaching every game is tough and a potential loss so the term does apply..  Seton Hall, the way they are playing, couldnt  trap a hungry mouse but, yes, I suppose it could be a tough one given injuries, lack of consistency etc etc I hope our priest are praying more then the SH priests, we may need it.
