Need favorites to win out...

in BET and beyond. Last thing SJU needs is a lot of automatic qualifiers who wouldn't have made the tournament otherwise. I think after last two games they are 9-10 seed.

We are safely in the tournament everyone needs to relax. We will be an 8-10 seed.

Everyone is gonna be bored until Sunday, need things to talk about.

True, we should talk more about possible match ups, not whether we get in or not.

Need Miami to lose

Miami is every bit as good as St.John's at losing today.

+1.

Let's not forget a mere 1.5 weeks ago we took Georgetown to the woodshed.  This team and basically every Lavin team has not been consistent.

Whatever seed we get we could show up and beat the living daylights out of our opponent or look like deer in headlights.

I actually wonder if after locking up a bid and playing a team they beat twice on their home floor they lost a little focus.  Shouldn't have but not that surprising w this group.

I expect us to show up next week.

So last year when the BET vs PC was essentially a play-in game with everything on the line, we choked.

This year, with our ticket to the dance already punched, we lost focus.

Seems more like a group of players that just don't know how to win basketball games on a consistent basis, especially in the postseason.

The only postseason win of their careers was a buzzer beater @ St. Joes by Dom. And Harrison was suspended from the team at that time.

These guys have NEVER played a game like the one they will play next week.  Everything is incomparable.  I admit it does not look good, but one thing Lavin did well at UCLA, as much as they hated him, is he had maddeningly inconsistent teams play their best in the NCAAs, and has knocked off 1s before as an 8, etc.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll have them ready for the NCAAs until he proves me otherwise (and I dont think 2011 is proof otherwise considering losing DJ was just a brutal loss to the team).

His UCLA teams were loaded.  His recruiting classes were always near the top and at times at the top. He also had a lot of depth. Comparing apples and oranges.

Those are very good wins. Syracuse is also a very good win that is far more impressive than it looks now. We beat them by more than 10 points when they had NCAA tournament talent. That is IMO, still our most impressive win.

Still a 7 seed in Lundardi's updated bracket this morning.

DJ's injury also cost us a higher see either a 4 or a 5 instead of a 6 against freaking Gonzaga. A lot of things might be different if DJ didn't tear his ACL in that game.

I hoping for a 10 which is actually better than being in 8-9 mgame. Biggest fear is being an 11 and having to play in the play in game.

Are we going to go through this again?

7-9 looks like the best possibility.  right now sju is the highest 8 seed on bracket matrix.  probably not going to jump 5 spots and make it to a 6 without playing.  probably not going to drop 8 spots to a 10.  I don't know this part well, but maybe there is a chance sju is a 9, but gets dropped to a 10 for schedule reasons like not playing a team they already played or something like that
