Obekpa suspended

We should've cut him loose after he refused to re-enter the Big East Tournament game last year then quit the team and announced a transfer. Guy's a screwball.

since we're into making moves with no regards to timing, just fire lavin now, don't wait until we are or aren't selected

if they are put into the NIT he shouldn't even be allowed to accept the bid, he should be canned before it

 it reeks of trying to get fired so he can get paid to do nothing...makes sense considering he has a pretty much barren squad going forward and the school has refused to comment on his status, they want to see how he does down the stretch

now he's guaranteed to be termed if they aren't selected because of this, easy money for this paper bag to do nothing while counting his money, which is pretty much what he's been doing anyway

I agree. At this point, Obekpa doesn't get blame. Lavin gets it all. What a SOB he is.

All athletes get tested before any NCAA championship.   During the season its just random, 2 or 3 guys here and there.
But before the tournament they would all be tested.   

So, like I said, Lavin wouldn't do this unless he had to.   Ncaa wouldve found out and declared him inelidgible anyway.
Maybe that is what happened?  Who knows.

Also, Obekpa clearly deserves some of the blame.  No matter what the infraction, he did something he knew damn well he shouldnt have.   Drugs, grades, w/e the case may be
I hate Lavin as much as anyone, but Chris as been a d-bag for awhile.   Let's call it what it is.   I hate to call out a college kid, but he refused to enter a game last year, and now got himself suspended when his team needed him most.   He is what he is.  I wouldn't want him as my teammate.

I'm so freaking sick of this guy's act....he has gotten 2 flagrant 2's this year alone and also quit on St Johns by refusing to get back in the game in last year's BE Tourney game with Providence.

That's plausible.  They do get tested leading up to the NCAA tournament.

Lavin recruited him.  Lavin has had trouble recruiting players that don't have attitude issues and players that don't constantly find themselves suspended.  That's on him.  He's a bad head coach, all around.

@JonRothstein: Chris Obekpa's suspension is similar to what St. John's went through when Willie Shaw was suspended for NCAAs in 2002. Awful timing. #SJUBB

  I like when you call others ignorant.  I'm as pro-weed as anyone, but rules are rules.   If you are dumb enough to flunk a test ( if that's what this is), then it is 100% your fault.    The NCAA would have suspended him anyway
