Thank you seem we have a few here who would be happy with the Syracuse type morality

I would be very happy with a program that is guilty of some under the table payments, some academic fraud and some failed drug tests than a program like ours, for example who is guilty of under the table payments, failed drug tests, assault and oh yea, murder.

Give me SU and all of their massively insignificant "crimes" to go along with their wins over top 25 programs, their NCAA appearances and the success at getting talent to the next level.

I'd be able to live with myself just fine.
But throw that religious  kid whose religion has taught him that homosexuality is not
an exceptable  lifestyle off the team.

Thanks for posting that. If the NCAA has a one year suspension for testing positive for drugs, where is it written that if your own university catches you, you get a 2 week suspension? Where did Lavin get that from? His agent?

Obekpa not worth putting the program at risk, especially if a new coach is to be sought. I no longer think we can attract good players but I been wrong plenty.

No risk about it, we are already there.  We have done next to nothing for over 20 years.  Because SJU is in NY and plays at the garden it is POSSIBLE to rise from the performance cellar we are stuck in.  TO RISE AGAN A CHANGE IS ALMOST CERTAINLY NEEDED, Lavin must go.  How can we keep a coach who states he is a poor tournament coach.

Wait, are you suggesting we move on from Coach Lavin? From the #Hammer to Rock? From the #2 recruiting class in the nation?

The hate and vitriol that have been spewed throughout this topic is incredible.  While I am extremely upset with CO's lack of judgment and what it means to his teammates and us fans, the school-not the coach- made the right decision.  The school has a code of conduct which indicates penalties for infractions.  A violation of school conduct occurred and a penalty was assessed as it would be to any other student, suspension from non academic school activities.  Lavin did not make this suspension unilaterally but in conjunction with the AD and school administration.  If he knew the infraction and covered up, he should have definitely been fired on the spot unlike a coach of an upstate school whose administration kisses his butt. 

That said--let's take it forward one game at a time; now beat SD State!
