I don't see Joey being a big factor here.  They don't have a back-to-the-basket scoring threat and have no beef on the team.  I think this is Amar's day and *gulp* Christian Jones. 

If I'm the coach, I'm on Jones all week ferociously about him stepping up and playing to his physical talent...that we live and die by his ability to step up and play like the player he looks like.  Come game time, stay on him...ferocious and intense...keep him directed.  Get somebody to call him out in practice this week.  It's sickening that we desperately need the type of player Jones looks like he can be physically. 

If he can give us 10-12 productive minutes on the glass, this is a different squad.

It is such a contrast in the teams. I personally think Pointer is the key for St Johns and Sheppard for SDSU.

This may come back to bite you in the you know what.  Granted, I haven't seen much film on your squad, but Winston, JJ, Polee, and Dakarai Allen are all guys would make all-defense teams in a lot of leagues, and are all plenty quick and athletic defenders.  Winston and Dakarai especially.

Just the kind of team to get Dom and Jordan going. If Phil and D'lo hit shots we have a good chance. Then we will get killed sunday.

So with a 4 or 5 guard lineup, who will see the majority of minutes at Point for y'all?

The weak spot in our defense is at the 1 - we can get burned by quick slashers as long as they keep us honest with an outside shot.  If you can play a PG who is capable of 15+ points and 4 or 5 assists I think it will be an advantage for you...

I also think the refs will play an important role as far as how the game is called... If they're letting slaps in the lane go it helps you guys, if they're letting body contact go it helps us.  We're deep enough to withstand foul trouble, but do you guys have the ponies to withstand one or two guys in foul trouble?  With our size, it seems like we should be able to pound it down low and either score or pick up FTAs.

I've also seen some posts about Chol... He's kind of an enigma.  Not a terrible defender, but will make really bad fouls when he gets beat and frustrated.  A beast down low, but he ONLY goes left and can be swiped since he's got bad hands.  Just looking at the matchup, I'd be very surprised if Chol played more than 10 minutes.  If he does, it's because Skylar Spencer is in foul trouble.

So we will probably start 4 guards and they start 4 forwards. Guess we will see if college basketball truly is a guards game.
