I'm pretty sure we lost to Gonzaga in the first round in 2010-2011 season.

We also need to keep in mind that Lavin's overall track record at St Johns is the best since the beloved Coach C. Firing a guy after making the NCAA's will not go over well with everyone.
Fran:

1996–1997 St. John's 13–14     8–10   5th (BE6)
1997–1998 St. John's 22–10     13–5    2nd (BE6)   NCAA First Round
St. John's:      35–24 (.593) 21–15 (.583)

Jarvis:

1998–99  St. John's   28–9         14–4   3rd (BE)          NCAA Elite 8
1999–00  St. John's  25–8        12–4  3rd (BE)                    NCAA 2nd Round
2000-01   St. John's   14–15        8–8    T–3rd–(BE)
2001–02   St. John's   20–12       9–7    3rd–BE           NCAA 1st Round
2002–03   St. John's   21–13       7–9    5th–BE           NIT Championship
2003–04   St. John's    2–4
St. John's:             110–61 (.643)  50–32 (.610)

Lavin:

2010–11    St. John's   21–12    12–6   (5th BE)     NCAA Second Round
2011–12    St. John's   2−2                  (T–11th*)
2012–13    St. John's   17–16     8–10   (11th BE)   NIT Second Round
2013–14    St. John's   20–13    10–8    (T–3rd BE) NIT First Round
2014–15    St. John's   21−12    10−8   (5th BE)     NCAA Round of 64
St. John's:           81–55 (.596)   40–32 (.556)

Close, but no cigar - not most successful since Louie...

What was the second round is now the first round. Because everyone gets a trophy.

Have any of our coaching targets signed with another school?

No

Thank you and have a great day.

Ok Moose, so it's ok for the idiots at sju to sit around playing with themselves because no other school signed them yet.
Then when DePaul gets Bobby, then oh well right?

The NCAA ridiculously called it the "Second Round" back then since the First Four was technically the First Round.  They now call it the Round of 64 which makes much more sense.

F Bobby Hurley. If we're going to hire a doOK player who drinks and drives I want poet laureate JJ Reddick. Or at least Jay "Look out for that tree" Williams.

Yes.. This infatuation with Rat-Boy Hurley is absurd..   Every year there are can't miss, up and coming coaching candidates..  Give me a break..  Plus, we already had a coach that had a problem with the Ponies.  Javis

How quickly one forgets that Jarvis official record is 66-110 (BE 60-61) and that does not include the 2-17 Kevin Clarke record thanks Jarvis not to mention the behavior issues/NCAA suspensions and the need to clean up the program.  With FF it was his job shopping while still at SJU that some may forget,  It goes more beyond the numbers.

That's really helpful.

Diallo to Coach. Your contract is good until next season?  OK, thats all I need to be one and done.

So the drama continues.  It seems clear "they" r "working" on an extension......some people trying to kill the deal......Zags tris to tone down the spin of his first piece and not be "wrong."   Zach admitting he was wrong and now he may be.  Roger Rubin same place as Zags is without having been wrong.

They all must be very pleased w St. John's and/ or their "sources."
