More excited about Dom getting drafted than anything else tonight. So happy for him. I think he's an NBA player, can't wait for him to prove it.

Not me, I knew this kid was gonna get drafted.  He's got a lot of skills, and athleticism.  A few things to work on but I think he will stick because of his work ethic.

Had work early so didn't catch the end of the draft last night. Very pumped this morning to see he got drafted and especially to the Cavs. A very good team with some holes to fill at guard and forward. A great place for him to land and knowing Dom he will run with this. Nice moment for the St. John's Basketball family, hopefully the first draft picks of many over the next few years.

Great for Dom and good for the program.  Looking forward to seeing which summer teams pick up D Lo and Phil IV.  Shame Rysheed and Big Chris never understood work ethic + talent = next level.

• At No, 54, they took Sir'Dominic Pointer, no known relation to former Texas A&M running back Sirr Parker, who was knocked repeatedly out of the 1999 Sugar Bowl by Ohio State tacklers.

Actually, Pointer was a defensive stopper, co-Big East Defensive Player of the Year. Think of him as potentially our very own Draymond Green, only without the cheap shots, posturing and overwhelming aura of obnoxiousness.

Awesome spot for him to be in.  Bet he already knows LeBron through Jakaar, by the way, so that might have influenced this pick somewhat.  Great player who grew as a person (not a shit starter on the court anymore) and as a player at SJU in his final year.  Very happy for him and I think he will have a good, pretty long career in the league.

I saw that also. I don't think that is very accurate. I think Dom will compete like a warrior as usual and will be a great bench piece for them. I would say he not only makes the team but he will get minutes right away also.

Congrats Dominick on your 4 years of hard work paying off. Best to you as Sir Dom plays alongside King James. Too bad some of your lazy ass teammates didn't follow your work ethic.

I wonder if DJ Kennedy helped with some awareness for Dom in Cleveland?

Congrats Dom! A few friends of mine who got close to you during school speak very highly of you as an individual, good to have another potential Johnnie ambassador in the league.  Go make that team!
