Just watched it on the DVR. As has been said, ugly and we desperately need a PG.

But Yakwe..he's rawer than I expected considering what was said about him as a HS player but MAN, does that cat have some springs and is he relentless. Between him and Sima (and Owens), we're not going to have any trouble rebounding against better competition next year and the year after. So refreshing after the last couple of years watching guys stand around and look at the ball when it goes up to see somebody crash, EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Some positives (because there weren't many):

-Very happy with the free ticket gimmick worked. Expressed how I thought no one would show up but props to everyone. I even liked that they moved the band back into the second section of seats. Looks better to pack the lower bowl with fans. Hope they continue to do that. If they would have played better the place would have been electric.

-Jones continues to play his ass off and they probably lose this game if it wasn't for Felix's spurt down the stretch of the end of the first half.

-You can see how much Sima really means to this team that he was taken out of the game by the refs. Yakwe filled in admirably but I think he needs a little more control by the basket. 5 pts, 5 reb, 5 blocks in 19 minutes is great for his third game though. Expect him to continue to excel.

-Amar rebounded well, he had 7 which has to be a career high.

Just a brutal game by both teams. If it's Cuse it's 100 - 50

Complete abortion of a game. Niagara is and played horrible, shot 25% and we only beat them by 4 at home. Set the game of basketball back 100 years. If I was Mullin I would have had the team sit in the stands and watch the woman's game and then had them practice until 2am!

My posse and I crashed the pre-game festivities at Taffner. A good time was had by one and all.  They had plenty of food, drinks, shirts and bags and Coach on the mike with Louie at his side.

It was a fun hors d'oeuvre to what was a poorly played yet oddly entertaining game.

Hopefully this leads to free student tickets next year. If its free they will come

Anyone else stay for the women's game.  Coach Joe's team now 7-1.  While they were a bit off they still outscored the men in 30 minutes.  Coach still working on his starter/sub pattern but got nice minutes from some bench players last night which will help down the road.  Suggest you use some of the women's freebies given with season ticket package to see our only potential NCAA basketball team.
