Gotta get Alkins

I don't think he's a must get, especially because he's already talking about leaving after one year. Ponds and Lovett in the backcourt works for me. Two guys who will stick around and get better each year.

Alkins replaces Durand and Mouvika.  Thats a lot of shots.
Remember who broke the Slice news

I'm far more concerned about the coaching staff than the players. The players are young and like I've said a thousand times, non-elite freshman can only be asked to be role players, and the freshmen on this team are being asked to do too much, but there is no other option. All of these kids will be solid four year players which this program has so desperately lacked over the past decade aside from two classes.

However, I am concerned that the staff has gotten severely outcoached these past two games, especially on the defensive end. No adjustments made when teams are lighting us up from the outside. Weak close outs by the guards and routinely being on different pages when it comes to whether to switch or not. I knew it would be a very tough season but this trend of giving up countless WIDE open threes game after game is very unsettling

I agree. That's what it looks like. Our upperclassmen, Johnson, Jones and M'vouika are not playing like upperclassmen. Mullin needs to find another way to get through to them. What he's doing now clearly isn't working.

Using the term upperclassmen does not really describe 2 guys coming off injuries, and 1 guy who barely played for 2 years. So yes they are not playing like upperclassmen. We really have no one who has the experience and maturity you'd expect from real upperclassmen. I might say Felix but he can't get on the court.

Sheed wouldn't have lasted a day during the season with this staff.

Completely disagree here...    if Sheed had a chance to be eligible, he would have stayed.

Its called going to class.

Agree with you that Sheed would have been a tremendous player if he was able to stay on the court despite eligibility, behavior, and other off-the-court issues.  But, after what we witnessed the past 2 years, I think there was little to no chance of that occurring.  The prior staff had solid NBA ties (Darrick played for a long time, Rico in development, Lavin in sending kids there), plus a college coaching legend in Keady.  Clearly that had no impact on Jordan's ability to get his act together.  Sure, Mullin and Richmond would likely resonate more with a kid like Sheed, but after what we witnessed the past few years, I think him and Obekpa were lost causes and would bet against them turning it around for anyone at any point in the near future.

I think he would have thrived having guys from the NBA like Mullin & Richmond around him. He could have seen first hand what it takes to get to and succeed in the NBA. It's his own fault that is not playing this year.

From a purely basketball point of view...   Jordan is exactly the type of player this team needs. A veteran point guard who wanted to be the man on his team and was a good scorer. He would have completely changed the game on the court for this team.
