Thanks.... no mention of redshirt potential / 5th year eligibility.

That's a long time from now anyway and landscape will likely look much different.

Every player has 5 years do their four.  It is automatic.  He doesn't have to be "redshirted."

NCAA should probably update their website. Says D1 doesn't have partial qualifiers

I mentioned this before that PQ is not a term the Eligibility Center uses anymore.   It is essentially a Non-Qualifier with some dispensation.

When the Big East and most major conferences went the route of no longer accepting NQ's (some conferences do allow them) they did carve out provisions for when the NCAA did give partial clearance without officially calling them "Partial Qualifiers."

Everyone still uses the term even though it is no longer officially part of the NCAA Lexicon on eligibility.  It is like using the term NCAA Clearinghouse even though they officially changed the term to "NCAA Eligibility Center."

I would really like to know if there is anything out there besides ST John's believes or was led to believe that he will definitely be eligible right away next season.

All the positives vibes were coming from overzealous people within SJU who felt they found loopholes that would force NCAA to make him eligible.  They spoke freely (too freely) that is and told everyone and anyone willing to listen.  NCAA held firm.

Seemed a bit surprised that Mullin responded"I have no idea" at the end of the post game Creighton article in the Post when asked about Lovett status.

Saw on the Rysheed Jordan page that there is more concern about Lovett's status at St. John's. Was at the Xavier game last week and didn't see him on the bench, is it time to be concerned about him leaving?

He's in school. He's been working out and posting his progress on social media

I don't know much about anything but it would be extremely odd to me if this kid shows up for class during the second semester if he's going to leave. Makes little sense for him to do that. If he won't be around next year why not just leave now?

I honestly thought this stuff would stop happening once Lavin was gone. I know this is part of the game, but it seems to happen to us more often than other teams. Wonder who we can get to replace him if this is true. Ponds, and Mussini aren't true PGs, and as much as Dave thinks Ellison is the best PG we currently have, with all due respect to him , I just don't see that at all. I really hope this isn't true, but from all the writing on the wall, and our history of bad luck I'm sure it will end up being true.....

He would have to sit out a season unless he went to JUCO.

Take it for what it's worth but someone asked Braziller if there was any truth to the Lovett transferring rumor and he flat out said no. Just makes zero sense for him when he be getting a ton of pt here next year and would have to sit out if he transfers meaning he will miss two full seasons of basketball. Hope these are just false rumors, we will see.

Like other women in abusive relationships many Saint John's fans are only happy when they are being beaten. And if they're not being beaten they create situations where they might be getting one.
