How was that not a foul

TO by Cooley after a made 3.  How Lavinesque!

LOL

I know you're clownin' (or, I assume you're clownin').  But lots of coaches do it.  Some people just wanted to find a reason to rail Lavin.

Durand passes up a wide open 3 to take a contest long 2 off the dribble. Followed by a very weak flagrant call. Put dresses on these kids if that's a flagrant

What a horseshit flagrant call.

I like how Johnson has improved, but he has the worst shot selection I've ever seen.

Start all the freshman. Yakwe, Sima, Mussini, Ellison and then Balamou. At least 4 guys can learn. I like that Balamou at least tries to involve others. He's been pretty bad, but he has his moments from time to time, and there really isn't anyone else. Why can't those 5 d up? What's the f'n problem with the effort?

He's a shittier version of Avery Patterson. Where has Johnson improved? He hurts more than he helps.

We didn't play that badly overall and lost by 20. Obviously the talent level just isn't there. Would like to more of the freshman. Mvouika and Johnson I thought would make us at least somewhat competitive this year but they have both not been good. Providence is very good and we just can't compete with them. As someone else said I'd like all the young players out there with Balamou.

It's a very good providence team that can actually compete in ncaa's.  They have a lot of pieces and experience.

Cooley has done a terrific job there. I think we'd all be happy experiencing the success they have experienced since he got there and what they will experience this year. They have a real chance at being a top 4 seed and going to the sweet 16

They just better hope it doesn't come down to free throws in a tournament game.  Dunn is the guy who's going to have the ball the most, and he's only around a 60% shooter.  They are going to have to raise that percentage somewhat, come tournament time.

Develop Sima Yakwe and Ellison.  I'm not sure that Mussini can be anything more than a 3 point specialist in the Big East.

Gonna be a long Big East season...for everyone's mental health I suggest you don't dissect all our 30 point losses.

Hopefully recruiting can finish strong.  Already looking forward to Lovett and Ponds in the backcourt.

The FT shooting from this group has been awful. Last in the conference. Mullin should be demanding better from them in this dept.

Ahmed also for next year and I think Mussini has some game it will show next year when he plays more off the ball. He's still very young but I wouldn't throw him to the side just yet.

Agreed, Mussini is not a true PG and asking him to play 35 minutes a game at that position in his freshman season against BE competition is asking a ton of him. He will be a good 4 year player. Some people on this board will just never understand that only the elite freshmen are good players in their freshmen season. Hell, Cheick Diallo is an elite freshmen and even he's not good enough to play more than 10 minutes a game at the position where Kansas doesn't really have any superstars

Spot on--it is going to be a long, long season. We knew this going in. While I hate losing, I will not get upset as it was expected (pre season last in BE).  I hope folks will be forward looking.  If you want to see winning SJU b-ball go to the women's games as they will soon have the first 2.000 point women's scorer.

The men are learning week by week but it will be baby steps and suffer many growing pains.  DJ and Frenchy are place holders who will be moving on.  When new staff was recruiting they were smart to fill out scholarships to allow us to field a team this year with the ability to add to it next year rather than have all frosh chosen from the remnants of the class of 2015

One player set the ALL-TIME SJ 3 pt. shooting record with 72.

The other is on pace to make 40 and not lead his team doing so.

Can't you see the difference?  It's right there.

Didn't like the flagrant call on Da Ali B.

Shame Felix the Cat lost a year to a Hollywood attempt at discipline.  Could have been decent next season.

Dunn can win you a lot of ballgames.

Playing M'vouika, Johnson and Jones at this point is a terrible idea. They should get minutes off the bench, because they just have to, but they aren't offering any leadership. If they are the reason why St.John's felt they didn't need Obekpa and Jordan, they are a pretty shitty reason.

All three of them act like they've just been called for the first foul in the history of the game.
