When are they going to move him off the ball on the half court.

Yeah, they should just let Lovett take over....oh wait.  There are no viable options to move him off the ball.  You can get away with a half-dozen plays with Balamou on the ball to free him up, but honestly who is that going to fool?  It's pretty amazing this kid ever gets an open look considering he is the only dangerous offensive player on the roster and the only capable ball-handler.

There is nothing more consistent than SJU fans killing the kid who plays PG regardless of the situation.  This kid is a gift...you can't draw up a better third guard.

Mussini is our best player. He will be next year also, unless we get Rawle

If Ahmed, Ponds and Lovett aren't all eligible and better than Mussini, we will stink again next year

Best player on the team.  The real deal. Who disagrees?

Please!  He blows most layups...misses threes like they're going out of style...turns the ball over incessantly...is very slow getting down court on the opposition's fast break opportunity...plays little "D".  Other than that, he's NBA bound.

That being said, I'm glad we have him.  He works hard and hopefully will improve greatly by the time he's gone.  He's a good guy to root for.

Aren't you a bundle of fun

It goes with the free fall amid all the hype.  I'm glad you're still enjoying the losses.

I have a lot of other things to enjoy in life.
Remember who broke the Slice news

Are there question marks regarding Ponds and Bashirs eligibility? I know Alkins  has questions.

What is the purpose of any thread?

I would agree.  His three point prowess has been our most reliable weapon and led us to our one signature win and gave us a chance against Xavier.

I like him and are glad we have him. However, his lack of foot speed, size, athleticism and defensive ability temper my enthusiasm for him.

Fair assessment. To me, if he develops into a good complementary player & consistent three point threat, that's fine.

The question is considering how much he will have played this year would he be ok with a more limited role, considering his European options?

I think Sima is our best player. He plays a smart brand of basketball, and he is able to contribute on offense and defense. Blocks shots, rebounds, looks to pass and doesn't force anything. If he works on his foot work this summer, and develops an up and under, he'll be one of the better centers in the BE next season.

Your best post in forever, poison. Agree completely

We'll see on that. Apparently the professional contracts in Italy are much reduced due to the challenging economy. My guess is if he gets 20 minutes or so a game he would be fine, but you never know. It will also be interesting to see what minutes Ellison earns with Ponds, Ahmed & hopefully Freudenberg joining the fold. Hey depth obviously is a double edged sword re minutes distribution, but better than the thin rosters we have had.

Will be as 4th guard for sure but with three 6 foot guards, there def will be a spot for Ellison just based on his size

I'd argue that he has already developed into both.  I think he is in a very unfair situation playing without a second capable guard. The staff will find its way to more and more zone over time and Mussini's deficiencies will be hidden.

I like the different the looks the staff will be able to hit opponents with next year...from three guards with Moose, Lovett, and Ponds to bigger lineups with the versatile forwards in the 2016 class.

Agree on second paragraph & know he has range, but I don't believe he has been a consistent 3 point shooter yet. As you noted, in proper role & with right players around him, that should improve. I am happy we have him for sure.

I am hoping that he is our 4th best scoring option next. Not a knock on him. I just hope lovett, ponds, and Ahmed are better.

Wouldn't be surprised if 2 of the 3 never make it to the court.

I can't take anymore of this . I hope not. Even though Lovett can't play, can he transfer to another school without sitting out? Ponds signed? Ahmed seems to really want to be here. What is issue?

Would have to sit out a year per Paultz
Being a SJU fan means being skeptical of anything good
After the last decade, I won't personally be comfortable that anyone will be here until they play a game.

Is there any worry other than WE ARE ST JOHN'S about Ponds?
What could be problem with Ahmed? Counting on him as the given.

All I said is LoVett would have to sit out a year or go Juco if he left SJU. Don't know of any problem with Ahmed & have no clue on Ponds qualifying.
